I'm toying with the idea of just balancing BA, CA and TiA in an executive fashion, releasing the rebalanced versions to the game maintainers, and letting it off there.

Anyone else experiencing more crashes with the newest version? A couple players have complained...

Not sure if its just me but i am noticing some more pathing issues than usual.
Things stopping inside labs randomly, con units not moving out of the way of their own constructions. Just the usual spring stuff but accentuated a little.

Probably just me imagining stuff.

Penetrator has effectively zero AOE, turns its chassis and turret with the speed of a dead snail, can't shoot air, is slower, gives pain to nearby units when it dies, and costs more to boot. Banisher can actually hit stuff when moving wtf ~~
Well as I see it a Penetrator kills a Banisher with just one shot and due to the higher range two Penetrators would kill two Banishers in a 2v2 without even getting hit. The Penetrator also can hit moving targets with no problem as he has a beam weapon and no particle / rocket weapon. Plus the penetrator even gets extra damage against Mechs and Krogoths with even doubling its dps in the last case...

As said - the Anti-Air-Feature of the Banisher is cool and it's not a bad unit but it's far from being as good as the Penetrator. One Penetrator plus one Flakker should be by far better than two Banishers...
KingRaptor wrote:Also golly had twice the AOE and 40% more range than bully, everyone seems to forget that ~~
This indeed gets told rarely - just as the Goliaths inaccuracy. I also didn't say Core's tanks were total crap but just inferior in general. When choosing between on Goliath or two Bulldogs I'd take the two Bulldogs because of more dps each (in 5.71), about 2000 more health and a faster speed...

Congratulations on the new release. The changes all seem to be an improvement.

Thought you would make a point about the Destroyer change instead of FHLT, remember our big discussion?

:D

Still to test this out. Looks good by the changelog alone though.

Good looking set of changes Noize, very glad to see t2 being tackled in a serious fashion.
How many times do I have to say this? The Banisher deals 1k damage per shot (5 against Submarines), hits Air with 95% accuracy, has a higher AOE and a Slope Tolerance of 20, comparable to the Commander.
Its reload time is terrible, though. The Banishers AoE is less than a bulldogs and less than half a goliaths, so its not actually that great against swarms. It packs a lot of impulse though, due to high damage per shot.

You're probably looking at the wrong place for the slope tolerance- you'll find that in the moveinfo file in gamedata, not in the fbi. The Banisher has 18 slope, the same as every other vech (cept amphibs) and doesnt come close to the commanders 36.

Its ability to hit air (mostly gunships) shouldnt be underestimated though.

It really doesnt come close to the penetrator though. With 2500 damage per shot (compare 1000) and a 5.5 reload time (compare 7.5)- and thats AFTER the nerf.

Your modinfo.tdf is missing the followign tags:

mutator
url
shortname
version
a proper description tag (mooo! is not a description)

and if you could add the game and shortgame tags (values Total Annihilation and TA respectively).

I fail to see any embalancement period in this mod to measure up to it's name.

this rating speaks for itself

Completeness: 2.25
Balance: 1.75
Visual Effects: 2 2
User Friendliness: 2
Overall: 1.75

that's the overall rating and I perfectly agree with it. There is nothing new about BA. All noize is doing is "yoyoing" the stats of each different unit version by version.
It amazes me why the core stilito is in a arm adv. air factory..

Of course there is nothing new about it. Its a Balance mod (IE, no new content or innovation, just unit stat adjustments) for a 10 year old game, based on changes made by another modder (Caydr). Its about as unoriginal as you get.

BA's goal is to innovate as little as possible, and create a stable, playable game. Thats unfortunate in a lot of respects, but does wonders for its actual playability.

Dont you mean the Core Griphon? I assume thats what it stands for at least (gripn). The 'Seal' is also called the 'Croc' and the 'Croc' is called the 'Triton'. The freaker doesnt even have a laser! This mod is obviously rubbish. :(

FHLT range was was reduced to equal that of the regular HLT. This is Good for a great number of reasons. Destroyer range was slightly buffed so it could outrange the FHLT without an insane amount of micro (or getting hit due to radar waver and laser overshoot). Remember how hard it used to be for wolverine to outrange HLT before it was buffed. This is also good.

You clearly misunderstand :]
reason there is still no Version 1.0 is because the mod is still being made and test releases have been made for people to try out and evaluate for myself, so far so good. Finest addition so far from other voices are the Floating LLT and tech 2 hovers
So therefore balances haven't been implimented until such a time where everything is placed and set to be reconfigured into a gaming balance.

In what fashion? Was it blind shelling against radar blobs, or precision bombarding of antinukes or coms?

Was this vs shields, or not?
