It actually happened on a bike trail. Thing is, from the station I arrive at in Ghent to my campus is only 5 minutes by bike, with bike trails the whole way. It can't possibly be safer, ignoring all of the dumb people on the road...

my dad broke every bone in his right leg (cept the feet ones) as well as destroying most of the ligaments and tendons in his knee as a result of 55kph motorbike vs idiot pulling out of driveway without looking. he now has some very stylish scars (one from just above his ankle to just below his knee, right down his shin. and another from just above his knee to just below his hip, as a result of his bones deciding to leave his leg for a little while).

he also sets off metal detectors at airports etc, which he finds very amusing (unless he is in a hurry)

Can he fell stuff through his "robotic parts"? I heard that some people who have metalic members attached to the bone (not sure if this is your father's case) can fell stuff thorugh then like it was part of their body due to some strange effect between the metal and the neural system...
