+1
Best console was the SNES.

If you're going to call FF6 the best FF game ever than there's not much point in arguing, you're obviously a golden age purist. The FF series may not have ever matched FF6-7, but they are still good games. Front mission peaked on the PS, but could still come back... Kingdom hearts is a VERY promising series, Square is far from dead.
Mega man is basically a dead series now, Capcom's breadwinners are more towards the resident evil variety these days. Megaman was never meant to go 3D. They aren't really even trying any more.
As for exclusivity, it didn't seem to be a problem for the xbox last gen that it had virtually no exclusive titles. If you boast the best hardware platform than the multi platform titles might as well be exclusives for you. They look and feel the best on your system.

The only reason why I like the SNES over all other current consoles is because of its impressive library of RPGs, platformers, and shooters. After the transition to 3D these genres have been in decline and have been replaced with FPS, hack and slash action/adventure, sports games and multi platform spam
I'm not saying that no good games have come out of 3D, that would be ridiculous as there are countless great 3D games. However, as a console library overall I love the SNES.

The SNES has my favorite console library too TBH. I did love the PS's console library, and the PS2 was decent as well, but something must be said for the console that had earthbound, arguably the best FF game ever, and chronotrigger all in one library.

Try Megaman ZX. The sequel is coming out soon in Japan (or is out already?) and I hope it comes over quickly.

Well, I became a purist through actually walking through the consoles, Swift. I never said they were dead, and I never said they were bad - but they have visibly declined. None of their series from pre-Sony times are up to snuff, and few of their post-Sony titles hit the mark as well.
I have a PS2 for the PS library, the highlights of which have absolutely nothing to do with any effort of Sony. The PS library is my third favourite - there were many interesting, if often either inefficiently designed or oddly limited, titles. Anyway, the PS2 library is one of the worst I've ever encountered - the focus for most of the passable titles was graphical, and the spirit of gaming seemed to be shunted into roughly 5% of the lineup.
Admittedly, my dislike of Sony in the PS days was more oriented around their business strategy and undeserved market domination than the games themselves.
Last gen, unless I'm much mistaken, most multi-platform games rated rather well on the Gamecube due to a superior interface and a more stable environment.

Wow, why is it so expensive there? :X Makes a PC a lot more attractive tho :D
And to think that i was actually considering learning Portuguese and moving there :X

I, on the other hand, am guilty of being a member of the Computer Centralist Alliance, or CCA.
Basically, I say that consoles can burn it hell for all I care, I'm going to play S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Amen to that brother. (Excluding the stalker part)

To the CCA and to victory against the Next Gen Console Bloc, or NGCB.
I've assembled the troops and have drafted declaration of war.
And then the console players ignore us for some reason. Odd, huh?
Though I think more PC games need to have more text. Because I love text. Anyone who knows me knows I love text. Because text has some really cool things you can do it. And cheaply. All you really need is a good writer and time!
And how can one not like S.T.A.L.K.E.R?
It's set in Chernobyl!

I have a very narrow interest in PC games.
FPS: Counter-Strike, and counter-strike only.
RTS: Spring, OTA, Homeworld, and HOI2
MechSim: StarSiege
And thats pretty much it. I tend to cycle between all of those every month or so. Currently I'm in my CS:S month, nextmonth will probably be Homeworld, last month was HOI2. Month before that was Spring. See what i'm getting at?

I'm looking forward to the Kingdom Hearts game, as well.
I really hope it's not on the PS3 exclusively, because that would suck.
Horribly.

Uh, I just watched the Microsoft press conference, and it was incredibly boring. They basically said, "here is all the stuff you already know about the Xbox360 coupled with the typically corporate PR bullshit and a crappy Halo 3 trailer." They announced nothing new, not even a price cut, which was very disappointing.
Nintendo's should be much better, I hope

Gah, nintendo's conference is the worst so far now. They didn't announce a single new non-causal IP, and their biggest game was called Wii Fitness, which is basically DDR for slow and old people, and "soccer moms". Part of my gaming soul just died.
All that's left is Sony out of the big three, and I don't have much hope for them.

O there is a god!!!! Sony managed to pull through and delivered a good conference. Much better than M$'s, and a 1000x better than Nintendo's. Sadly for them, it still wasn't good enough IMO to convince me to buy any of their new platforms.
I think these were pretty poor pre-E3 conferences overall though.

Fair enough. Admittedly, Nintendo's have been so killer in the past that I don't think anybody feels like trying anymore.

If Nentendo really wants to make money, they should make a Warhammer 40K game for the Wii. The nunchuk is movement and the chainsword! Press the trigger: Grrrrrrrrrrr slash! Spray of blood.
Press the d-pad for shouting praises for the emperor. The Wiimote is the bolter pistol. Press trigger to unleash a spray of self propelled exploding projectiles.
Now what would not be WTFPwnage about that?

If sales figures are any indication they don't really need to...
