Spring mark scores... what do they mean, what is your score.

The amount of CPU usage does not indicate the performance of the computer as a whole.
A slow GPU, or altogether, a slow card, can still greatly affect a game, whether for a single individual, or anyone playing the game.
The CPU handles math and logic, the GPU handles the math and logic of video.
If someone is missing frames here and there, it also means that the whole game, not just the video, is freezing off and on. I'm sure you've experienced it at least a few times, where you're playing, and the game hangs for a moment before things get smooth again.
Besides the fact, what a lot of people don't realize is that, in today's day and age, the CPU doesn't matter all that much because everyone's running one that's into the GHz range. What really matters are the video card, the HDD access times and lag, same for CD, and the RAM and the FSB.
So yes, the GPU would be a factor to include in system specs.

i would say spring is diffirent from many other games as CPU has massive factor here.
I have compared 2 PC's
1 - laptop with dual centrino and crappy onboard gfx - sandra cpu score 10000
2 - destop barton 2800+ , sandra score 5000 but rad9800xt - 3dmark is 2 times faster than laptop
But laptop beats destopn in spring a lot when i do .cheat .give 1000 arm flash. Destop lags to 10fps, laptop goes 20.
Thats because all those units are not graphicly expensive but CPU hungry because of pathing.
Conclusion: In spring and big battles CPU is the most importan factor. In many other games like FPS GFX is the most imporatnt.
Howg.

Spring does attempt to compensate for gpu lag by skipping rendering frames, that is what your on about crapppage, btu gpu lag still affects gameplay and lag.
Your video is useless, tantamount to fillibustering. Putting a video of spring on youtube then makign th video half the size and then placing big orange text ontop so the videos contents and any text is unreadable so that the viewer instead reads the orange text and trusts what it says instead of taking the effort to read the tiny unreadable text to see if it's correct, is an old psychological ploy.
Ontop of that would you play with a player who had great PC except for a crappy intel integrated graphics that gave him 5fps? Do you think that player would give a good fight?

AF the vid is rendered at 1024 x 720, the quality is fine, i cant control what youtube does with it, i could put it on UF if you wanted.
Regardless, you are just plain wrong, get over it. You are not going to notice the game slowdown just becuase someone has an awful framerate.
are you always this paranoid? the fact that the rate at which the frame count goes up is the same regardless of fps should be enough for anyone to understand - the actual game simulation is still running at hte same speed, its not having any effect on the other players. Why are you even trying to contest this fact? get over it.

*AF fails to see how the word paranoid has anything todo with this*
*AF isnt sure why cabbage is trying to contest this either*
*AF is simply pointing out flaws and possible attempts at manipulation, such as how youtube managed to resize the background video into a letterbox but not the orange text*
*AF thinks that cabbage isnt posting because of what he believes about cpu and gpu but rather he has a different motive*
*AF still thinks seeing the gpu model in a benchmark is useful in evaluating another player, regardless of wether it causes you personal lag or not, if your ally runs at 3 fps but you run at 60fps, does that make it alright?*

shitty intel integrated gfx will run spring faster than 3fps even on medium settings, i doubt anyone would even bother playing if it ran that slowly.
What youtube decides to do to a video isnt up to me. When i made it the text simply went over the edge of the actual avi file, so it was wider than the actual video, which was compensated for by adding the black border during rendering rather than cutting off some of the words. It's pretty fucking simple
So you blamed youtube for your own failings instead of just resizing text that was bigger than 1024x768?
Pointing out possible attempts at manipulation such as accusing me of being paranoid isnt paranoia.
Me saying you made the entire video using photoshop to make me believe my computer was secretly plotting to subvert my cup of hot choc would be paranoia, but I dont have any beverages near me, and my computers quite nice thankyou.
I once ran my sm3 testmap on min settings on an fx5200 and got 2 fps. I got 7 fps once on an 8800GTS running dynamic water.
So. Would you play a 2v2 if you knew your ally was going to get 2fps the entire game? And they had a core 2 quad extreme cpu? And that as long as there was no lag on your PC then the hardware didnt matter at all? And that it would not impact the game whatsoever?
You see I have a vested interest as a lobby developer and a general developer for spring making patches and other utilities. You just want to say 'pwned'.

who exactly plays games on sm3 test maps?

there you go, clear as day.
how many times have you come across someone with 2fps in a 1v1? ive got 1000+ hours ingame, and ive not seen it once.

[09:04:21 PM] <[]AF> cabbage
[09:04:25 PM] <[]AF> its very simple
[09:04:29 PM] <[]AF> new user joins
[09:04:40 PM] <[]AF> they have crappiest gpu youve ever seen
[09:04:51 PM] <[]AF> but they have ti plugged into a core 2 quad extreme
[09:05:02 PM] <[]AF> or even one of those larabee teraflop cpus intel has
[09:05:09 PM] <[]AF> what you are saying
[09:05:13 PM] <[]AF> is that it doesnt matter
[09:05:25 PM] <[]AF> so it shouldnt be listed on the benchmark
[09:05:31 PM] <[]AF> I am saying it does matter
[09:05:40 PM] <[]AF> because it impacts their ability to play the game
[09:05:52 PM] <[]AF> your video doesnt proove me wrong
[09:06:00 PM] <[]AF> its not even addressing my point
christ, why do you not understand?
give me a single example of that happening please, even the worst integrated gfx can handle 1v1's on minimum settings, the situation you described never arises.
unlike you i actualy play the damn game rather than sitting around dishing out worthless opinions all day on hte forums, you are just plain wrong, get over it.

look through the forums, youll soon find ppl who've experienced framerates in the 1-10 bracket. To deny the existence of sub 10fps framerates is absurd.
Infact go ask ppl in #xta about my machine after 20 minutes, back before I bought my new PC, and how after a point it'd grind to a halt despite low cpu usage. Framerates affect gameplay. You're saying they dont and all you need is a good cpu. I disagree.
