Ammo is easy.

Cities can probably be done with Lua (pre-place invincible buildins on the map that change possession if some special command is given to infantry).

General abilities can be done with Lua.

More seriously, the colourful graphics was what made Advance Wars different from other strategy games and it is what makes Advance Wars unique. Everyone turned of the "anime" animations and running out of ammo didn't exactly happen frequently. Metal spots can easily replace captureable cities. Music is missing from Total Annihilation mods too, and music is one of the things I think made Total Annihilation special.

btw, i will do a weird workaround on cities until we got luarules, so we will be able to capture them, well, music you can use winamp, special CO powers? Hm, that will unbalance :)

magus, use lua to give buildings to a gaia player.. then give each sides units the tag that does not allow capture. then give all unit capture.. and BAM done.

I can model, and I kinda figured out UVmapping, I'll post a few of the units up tonight.

Currently I'm working on the Medium Tank for Orange Star I guess, hard black edges contrasting the orange metal frame.

I can do a model or a uv map or a texture or something every once in a while.. I just need a picture, never played an advance wars game and don't currently own any... >.>

Edit: Do you want them chibi-ish and kinda unrealistic, or more realistic?

Edit2: I don't guarantee anything and have no obligations, either. I just like to model stuff.. :P

Google -> VBA; 0095 or 0263 or 0299 - Advance Wars (299 is the latest EU release). Pity that emuparadise is down atm. :(
