Nothing wrong with disturbed. They are a great bad, and their music takes a lot more technical talent that you would be lead to believe.

Many guitar players are not even capable of playing backbeat rhythms and anything that involves intense work with the pick hand. Hard for me personally fathom, cause I can play nearly anything (still having trouble with some of satriani's stuff, but I can play a lot of it). Course on the other hand, I rarely take the time to learn songs other than the ones I and my band writes, as it's a little bit irritating because I can hear a song once, and generally be able to play said song.

Other grat bands to check out, if you're into metal:

Lacuna Coil
Drowning Pool (first album, not super heavy, but great stuff. Not real fond of the new singer, so first album is all I recommend)
Soilwork (fucking awesome band, the entire band reeks of insane talent, Guitarist singer and drummer are fucking amazing)
Arch Enemy - nuff said
Mudvayne

So many others, but those are some of my favorites.

Linkin Park may be a bit emo, but they are Very good at what they do. First album reeked of potential, wasn't real thrilled about any of the other ones.

BTW, one point to note, just because a good song is played out does not make it a bad song, so get off the high horse. :)

I'm still sticking with Weird Al. Funny and cool to listen too. His lyric building is great. Who else would think of rhyming: "Brain dead AOLer" with "JPGs to Helen Keller"

He's also a good arranger. Just look at his Polkas. 10-15 songs, all cut up and put in order so that they sound good and vaugely make sense while played to a polka rythem. What's not awsome about that!

Though I liked this one Linken Park song. They had it in the trailer for the Miami Vice movie. That song!
