Might be that 0.75b1 makes it out the door first ;-)

Naw, Duke Nukem Forever hasn't been released yet. That clearly comes before 75b1.

The other angle for diversity in TA based mods is lab choice. Each lab has a different style of units, and diversity could be increased by increasing the difference between each lab, and by rebalancing so that air is a viable start.

I saw a player start air and go straight for bladewings, then he used them to paralyze jeffies and kill them with his com.

It was a really cool tactic but I don't think he thought it through :C

why not go a bit further? have a faction that has no weapons, and can only reclaim enemy units. have a faction that only has air units. have a faction with no buildings at all, where everything is mobile. a faction which can only build LOS weapons. a faction that only has no offensive units, only builders that can build turrets. a faction where all units are cloaked by default. a faction where all units are free, and economy is controlled by buildtime. othe possibilities are endless.

of course, balancing such a game would be pure horror, which is probably why nobody does stuff like that.
Reason that has not currently been considered is due primarily to the nebulous nature of reclaiming and other aspects relating, would also be kinda strange... I also dont think people are fond of that because reclaiming feels kinda cheap when its used to kill stuff, at least I feel like that half the time..
