Ok guff, the reason that you are getting the stfu noob impression is because you in a way are trying to vie for balance a la TA. Also, some of your information is just wrong, for example, urc units should be able to climb better than tanks... They can! Much better!
They are shorter ranged because they can climb REALLY well and are faster than GD units.
More coming...
Ungh, after reading more... you're just wrong and misinformed. The "Defending should be easier than attacking" bit made me laugh. Maybe you should be playing AA if you like to porc.
EE is not a porcing mod. It is simply impossible. Many have tried amd many have failed. No matter how good your defence line is it can ALWAYS be taken down, PERIOD. EE is not a mod for porcers plain and simple, thats why it's called Expand AND Exterminate. Maybe we should rename it to Porc 'n Die.

Fang, the problem with aircraft being so easily mass-able might be fixable by making them all move the same way as the bomber, Non-gunship style flight I mean.
I know what I'm talking about is probably a really big change, but keep in mind that it is just a suggestion

Quick question: what are miniguns meant to be used on? They barely seem to scratch URC units.

I tend to use them in large spread out clusters. More as a deterent but in large numbers they do great things. They are cheap and it is better then having nothing at the back of your base.

Miniguns 100 or so metal. In constrast, the light battle tank costs about 265 metal.

If I may make a comment on this whole aircraft controversy.
There are many who say that Air is useless. First off that is completely untrue. You wanna see how powerful air really is? Disable all the anit air specialized units, then play a game. The first person to have aircraft will completely dominate.
Second for those of you who think air units should be quite powerful and able to win in their own right I have two things to say.
1. If you basing this on any game, mod, unit pack, etc which involves any units using EMG, or involves in any way Arm, Core, or that universe. Please, remember that this is Expand & Exterminate NOT TA and should be treated as such.
2. For those of you who think aircraft should be amazing cause they are in real life then remember this: in real life planes can mount the AGM-65 Maverick missile. Which can kill a T-72 Tank -main tank used in current Russian tanks forces, being (slowly) phased out and relaced by the T-90- about 15-16 miles away from the target. While realistic weapon ranges would be interesting the first person to get aircraft up would be basically unstopable.
So for all our sakes let the air issue die.

No no, call it "The Barbeque" with the subtitle "Porc is on the Menu"
I apologize for the severe lack of constructive matter in this post, but could not resist myself.

The problem isn't that players want to porc and can't, its that because the defencive units are so useless it puts players in a place where they know exactly what the opponent is going to do, where he is going to attack, yet because they are for whatever reason unable to outproduce him at that point in time there is absolutly nothing they can do about it. It's not bad players that is the problem, it's bad RPS design causing slippery slope.

You should never rely totally on static defences for... defence... Use radar and scouts to determine where the enemy force is moving and meet them with your own units, which are backed up by static defences.
Defences aren't as useful as they are in other mods because wreckage doesn't block movement.

plus, I don't ever see people building walls, even though they build super fast and cost basically nothing.
Defences are backup. You backup defences with your own units. It you have so many defences, then maybe you should have spent all that metal on some units.

Oh right...walls. I forgot about those too. But I've used defence buildings many times to supplement my force's. Mostly with artillery buildings. If you can, establish a beach head and start putting defence's in the enemy base. I did that once. It worked rather well.

I've done that several times myself using amphibs and airdrops, it's horribly effective. And the torp tanks/mechs are horribly good about keeping subs off your back.

Perhaps because the people that play URC have dragons teeth for wall? Which arent all that effective.
Im not saying the mod is, but I dont want this to be "Whoever can expand the fastest wins". The mod needs to have other tactics employed to, not just Expand=win.

How aren't they? They're about the same height as GD walls.
And there
are tactics... Try stealth mechs late game, they're the best units for killing energy supplies.

lordo that doesn't make sense GDs walls do the same thing they are just longer
and honestly URC's walls are more use ful i think. their turrets (lvl1) are low enough to the ground that u can block plasma or cannon shells from hitting it. put a couple of missile turrets behind and and you'll do some damage.
What tacitcs do u want lordo? i mean specifics are way more useful than just saying we need more.

Well, at this point, any metal in defenses is really a useless sink... if they were effective to some significant degree, that might make a mixed (read: balanced and logical) overhead strategy more viable. At this point, low infrastructure headlong rushes are the way to go, and that just doesn't sit well with me.

armed mexes are effective at stoping the scouting parties from killing the mexes.
They also serve as great early warning systems and slowdown some advances if only for a while.

This takes me back to the AA Cloaked Mex v Exploiter discussion... these mexes are useful. They also happen to be the only effective non-mine defensive structures I have ever seen used en-masse.
