I can haz code? :P

Anyways, I got tired and discouraged from working on the raven, and thought I'd take a break while the other CA people gave their opinions as to what to do with it.

Alas, fate had plans for me...

Lisa ([LCC]Maiden[CA]) wanted to make models for CA, and so asked me to make a model while connected to a remote desktop view app, so that the basic technique may be observed. As a result, I present to you, a model that I have only barely alluded to having been on my list of models to make in the past (lolwut?):

The Bladewing!

Umm... what is this?

Yet another completely insane firing anim idea, brought to you by the MidKnight Insane Ideas Corporation :P

and because I'm still making these annoying glamor renders that show nothing of the geometry:

Dynamic cross-section view! XD

I can't judge myself, but I think I'm getting better at making my models look fairly focused and realistic (compared to raven, brawler, and cylinderbot). Am I? What do I need to work on here?

no improvement your not doubling up places which use the same texture so your limiting your texture space go back and redo them :p

Not necessarily. If you've got identical/mirrored segments need an asymmetrical texture, don't mirror. For example: S44's German infantry has a mirrored eagle on each side of the chest, when it's only supposed to be on one (as pointed out by spiked, before someone accuses me of being pedantic)

I very much am, thank you! :P
the meshes on this thing are 2 sided, rather than 1 face thick, that's why you see a smaller and larger copy of some things. It's for preshading purposes

Very nice, thanks, I will be using this.

Hmm, but is it necessary to paint the lighting on if you could have your engine do fully dynamic light sources?

Am I the only person that liked the original bladewing design/feel? Not knocking Midknights work btw, but I think the original bladewing is kind of iconic, like the old/new flash...

I agree with you acid. I thought about doing a model for it some day.
