And watch the polygons drop.

Look at how people do things who are more experienced or skilled than you and try to learn from them. Looking at game art in general can help a lot. That's what I do. Strong self-criticism also helps
And uh you are not really defining the shape for the cockpit sides and some other stuff... just looks a bit messy.

I've taken it down to 958 polygons, and 2020 triangles. Thanks.

meh, I am not even making a new thread for this model. You guys do not likely care but here:

Those claws look sharp...

@smoth AWSOME
@draco You need to define the cockpit more, it just ooks like part of the chassis now, and honeslty i do not like the design.

Indeed. How is melee combat viable in Spring though?

It's got lasers beams and vulcans and shit, the claws are cosmetic as far as the limited melee in spring goes I guess.

I WISH it was. but the thing is armed to the claws... litteraly. 6 vlaunch missles 2 beam weapons. The thing is like a madcat but less idiotic glass cockpit.

Big Thumpa
An artillery vehicle that works greatly as a tank destroyer due to a horizontal trajectory. I'm doing this for t1 aliens and still batting around ideas for how the models should be. T1 aliens are, more or less, captured soldiers from an Ork-like race (Similar to warhammer 40k orks).
812 tris.

Seems odd to have an artillery piece that can't adjust it's turret vertically?

Also, the effort on the tracks is kind of wasted when you can't see them at all.

And much, much cooler limbs.

Most of the highest faces on the treads are holes.

Probably lead me astray.
Still though, I'd be very tempted to detail something as important as the up/down rotation in geometry rather then try to indicate it via texture, which would be very difficult.

why not just have straight wings?

Yup, those wings are too ridiculously shaped for me, breaks immersion a bit, or at least just looks a bit odd.

I disagree, there's nothing wrong with the wings and Ive seen much bendier wings in spring in the past and nobodies complained about it.

I also think that those U-shaped wings aren't so bad. I much more dislike the fact that you can't really distinguish between front and end i.e. at first I thought that the bottom right picture would show the fighter's front but now I think this has to be the back. The top view also gives you no clue yet as there is nothing you immediately recognize as a cockpit geometry-wise...
