Sounds cool... it would make it look more "sci-fi" in my opinion, as if you were actually directing the battle on some uber-advanced battle computer thingy. Of course, a picture would help us rate it better.

Two things I'm waiting on before I can really start with balance testing and getting an alpha release out:

Gunships landing for no apparent reason in combat situations
Variable dontland jiggling speed (surprisingly important, believe it or not, when the target is half the size of an AK and tiny jiggling basically makes it dodge any attack)

Zaphod said he'd get the second one working by the next spring version, maybe I'll get lucky and another dev will work on the first (since it's something that affects even all current mods)

most airplanes land for no apparent reason i ncombat situations, not just gunships, i've seen...

i alwasy thought it was becuase they couldnt get another target bearing right after they killed the current one, and then they said "okay, our work is done, lets land", and even if another enemy comes along a split second later, they just keep landing.

I get around this by alway setting gunships on small patrol routes right after i tel lthem to attack, but the behavior really should be govened by Manuver/Hold Pos/Roam...

I guess I could make screenshots but a movie would be better, no? Maybe sometime soon.

The ships look OK in screenshots but in motion they're really great to see.

I hope he finishes this...it sounds cool.

And I imagine it would be really cool playing with about 10 different factions and ...(ahem)...respawn/in-game join. :wink:
