Not to say that you haven't glitched the game... but on easy difficulty, if you've built a character with high strenght and endurance, and gotten a few melee and unarmed perks, it's fairly easy to take out pretty much any standard enemy unarmed. Bosses might require some healing and chems, but they will still die just from you punching them.

Speaking of going 1 on 1 with a deathclaw... when I first played fallout, and got the quest to find the missing traders, I had pretty much nothing but melee weapons. I slew the critter on first try, without any glitches. (I had played fallout 2 before, though)

okay, ive just started fallout 2 and Ive got to get Vics radio from his shack to give to the slaver boss dude, but earlier in the game I jammed the door trying to unlock it... anyone know what the hell to do to advance the plot?
I love this game already. so many epic attributes to pick at the start and I had to pick the 'ladies man' and 'good natured' ones. and playing a character with a luck of 1 requires consistent reloading of saves when traversing the world map..

Haven't played fallout 2 since I was heavily addicted several years ago, but IIRC explosives can blow through doors and possibly walls. I vaguely remember there being a back door for that area as well.

Hmm my turn!
Fallout 3 is awsome!
Unless you played the first 2...
Game is fail when compared to fallout 2.
Boring characters, boring dialogues...This is much more oblivion than fallout.
The rpg system is also complete fail which is one of the most important parts if not the most important.
lvl 20 max?top skills at 100?no proper tag skills.
Also in fallout 2 for exmaple it was so hard to create a char cause every attribute was so worthy and was so important and linked to many things that you just took ages thinking about what exactly is it that you want more.
I played the game to about the 9th stage and just couldn't play it any more.It is good on the surface(even though the animations are crap and there are about 5 different people in the game with changing haircuts and facial hair)but underneath it is rotten and shallow.
Console material nothing more.
7/10 if 10 is fallout 2.
All it made me is want to play fallout 2 again.
If there are more like me be sure to play fallout 2 with the restoration mod.
Makes it even better.
There is only one small and annoying thing which hasnt been fixed and its the power armor exploit.Besides that its an awsome mod, fixing many bugs and adding and completing things that didnt make it in the final cut.
By the way.If you liked Fallout be absolutely sure to check out Planescape Torment!!! it rivals fallout as best rpg of all times IMO.

JA2 is a great game
As for Fallout, I got 3 and I've been enjoying it... But, I never played the other Fallout games so I guess I didn't know what to expect.... I guess I'll have to try fallout 2 next

To fully enjoy the older games get
sfall, which allows you to play the game in higher resolutions, use nice filters (like SAI) and a few other things like resetting Fallout 2's internal clock - the game was limited to 13 years.

Bethesda is giving everyone vague "maybe?" answers so far.
http://www.fallout3nexus has some info in the newsposts and quite a few reskin mods and the like though. This is the first time in forever a construction set wasn't released with a bethesda title which is not cool on their part; hopefully they release the editor in a few months.

The world certainly is a darker place as per the collapse of Black Isle.

You can also melee doors in Fallout 2, as I did when I was in the first town out of Arroyo, sledged the door where you pick up that tribal dude for cash and stole some gecko skins.

I made sure that all killable BoS NPCs died during the battle at the GNR studios, netting me some Power Armors/Helmets and a Fatboy (tactical nuke launcher) including ammunition for it. Guess what, doors are nuke proof.
For lulz shoot/punch/what ever a car/truck/motorbike while you're standing right next to it. :P

Ok, so recently I decided to test it. Hello Mr Super Mutant Behemoth. Oh what was that, did I unarmed strike you to death without ANY health loss?
Iron Fist, maxxed out, str maxxed, maxed out AP for VATs and Paralysing palm are broken when used together, only robots are threats, and you take robotics expert and sneak up on them and turn them off for that.

Also I dont know what my mission is. I talked to Father John and he brought supplies to Omerta...and now?

Nice find.
Overall, your mission is to eventually kill the dictator. You'll want to take over each town over time and eventually storm the capital.
