If spring was half as douchy as the NS forums I'd agree with you. The DF forums are unsettlingly pleasant TBH. However, I did get in an argument with some guy who was sure that obtuse realism structures were necessary for DF to succeed (he wanted to remove magma because magma flows were unrealistic). Toady basicly pretended the conversation never happened AFAICS. I'm not sure if I consider that a good thing or a bad thing...

Lulz.
DF is sort of in an odd middle ground. On the one hand, it's obviously set in a magical world, and generally "realism" isn't an argument in fantasy games. On the other, it aims to be realistic with many of its gameplay elements - see also the steel production process.
Random fun fact: a basic platinum statue is worth $22,344,784.32 today! Make two and you could buy yourself an F-15. Bye-bye goblins!

they release a new _awesome_ version with lots of stuff fixed and a lot of new stuff incorporated, and what is the first thing you do,
"BOO-HOO I HAVE TO LEARN NEW MOUNTAIN LAYOUT FUCK THIS GAME ;_;"
(ps, you could just shut up and play your old version of df ~_~)

Im not whining about it. Im simply correcting the guy who said 'there hasn't been a new version since Janurary' becuase he doesn't know about hte new version. Really chill out instead of doing that. I never once said 'Oh nooooo, im going to have to learn a new mountain D: '. If anything im happy about it.
Edit: Do me a favour and dont answer my posts becuase you 'think' I was whinning. Dont 'assume' I was complaining.
