I'll change my mind if you show me a good player making good use of glaives. every time I have seen glaves ingame they have died instantly and acheived nothing

glaives are win
the end
P.S. they probably have the best dps for cost, they are much to micro than flash and are EFFECTIVELY FASTER because they dont have to make those wide turns.
I has replays whenz i get homez

I think the main problem is flash/gator are too good vs pw/ak so starting bots puts you at a disadvantage.

the only way to kill a group of flash with light defences is to get them into a chokepoint or otherwise slow them down enough that you can eliminate them. otherwise, they can all just past by, and one can take the damage while the others regenerate.

Perhaps they should not have this ridiculous regen. It's a very strange ability that one would expect to see on a Borg Cube, not a go-kart with a laser gun on it.

. In CA, however I've seen people go to great lengths to protect their units, bringing them in for some harassment, then quickly running away. I want to ask: how effective is this tactic? Is it better to do as much damage as you can or try to flee? what units are best for this strategy?
Kills matter more than damage, since damaged units still shot with full power and can be repaired for much less than it would cost to make a new one. So retreating is good whenever you dont think you have good chances of managing to damage the enemy's infra-structure... but it requires some extra attention and management. I personally consider attention a precious resource, since I have trouble dividing it :)
1v0ry_k1ng wrote:I reckon glaive/AK is overpriced. they have dps but their total absence of HP makes them useless about 5 mins into the game. how about a cost reduction? glaive is what, 65m? I'd much rather have one flash than two glaives..
As far as I know raiders are supposed to become useless in about 5 mins in the game, then the frontlines and battle units are ready :) Well, not really since some raiders are strong enough to break through defenses, but I dont think glaive was made to be one of those.

Change flash model to borg cube - SOLVED.

how about just giving ak/pw the same regen? that makes sense.
nerf the twilight- 50m for 1500 HP, emp mine and the ability to go stealth (which is almost an afterthought)
why not same hp as normal mex? its stealthed, not megarmoured

speaking of replays, we better get a replays/dot wars (search it on youtube) system up for CA.

unrelated: manored, could you plz post the replay for the 1v1 you and I had like a month ago (the one with the dragon eggs, precision bombers, and nukes)?

the thing i like about glaives (that is this "peewee" kbot correct?) is that if you have destroyed some defense and your army died, its fast to pump out a number of them and throw them through the hole, into the eco.
They also seem the best unit to swarm unguarded artillery units.
I think glaives are alright.
