Soon the gypsy queen in a glaze of vaseline
Will perform on guillotine
What a scene! what a scene!
Next upon the stand will you please extend a hand
To alexanders ragtime band
Dixyland! Dixyland!
Michelle staggered to a halt, clutching her chest. It hurt. God damn it, it HURT! She hadn't received pain for a while...a long while. She collapsed against the wall and slid down the side of it. She was bone tired, first from stopping the hail of bullets then from trying and failing to stop the rockets that had blown her arm and chest apart. And her body...it was struggling to regrow the arm, and fill in a massive hole ripped in her chest cavity. She felt a bit fuzzy around the edges, as if she was going to just fall apart. Then everything snapped in to focus, somehow...clearer then before. Michelle raised her missing arm, finding it fully regrown. She reached around, getting used to the new arm.
Taraka appeared, suddenly, in the middle of the hall. ├óÔé¼┼ôMaster!├óÔé¼┬Ø Michelle stood, her entire face lighting up.
Taraka frowned. Michelle, seeing the expression, quailed.
├óÔé¼┼ôI have to teach you control├óÔé¼┬Ø Taraka said ├óÔé¼┼ôYou're body wants to rebound, to become stronger then it was. You can not let it reach the Threshold├óÔé¼┬Ø.
├óÔé¼┼ôWhy?├óÔé¼┬Ø Michelle asked, a sudden curiosity burning in her chest.
Taraka looked at her. Michelle was silent, thinking she had offended her master. Then Taraka told her. Michelle felt as if she had been hollowed out. ├óÔé¼┼ôGod├óÔé¼┬Ø she said ├óÔé¼┼ôThats what happens?├óÔé¼┬Ø.
├óÔé¼┼ôYes├óÔé¼┬Ø Taraka nodded imperceptibly, ├óÔé¼┼ôAnd that is why we can not allow you to get any stronger. You can hone the skills you have, but you're sheer power won't increase any more├óÔé¼┬Ø.
Michelle nodded ├óÔé¼┼ôI...I'm tired├óÔé¼┬Ø she said, her voice catching.
Taraka nodded again. Then he reached out and placed his pointer finger onto Michelle's forehead. Michelle gasped raggedly, feeling a hotness spread from her forehead. And between her legs. But she thought that was just her. Taraka sighed ├óÔé¼┼ôSlay everyone on this ship├óÔé¼┬Ø he said, ├óÔé¼┼ôThen you're test will be complete...watch the mindless ones├óÔé¼┬Ø he looked at her ├óÔé¼┼ôEspecially the man├óÔé¼┬Ø.
He vanished, leaving Michelle with that cryptic message. She turned slowly around and started to walk down the corridor. A patrol of marines were walking down the corridor, each of them warily glancing to the left and to the right. One of them saw her. Michelle took on an expression of shock and horror. ├óÔé¼┼ôOh god!├óÔé¼┬Ø she cried, running to them ├óÔé¼┼ôThank you! Thank you!├óÔé¼┬Ø. One of the marines backed up slightly, but she hugged him around the power armor.
├óÔé¼┼ôDid you see the woman? The woman who did this!├óÔé¼┬Ø one of the marines asked.
├óÔé¼┼ôWhere is she?├óÔé¼┬Ø the marine she was hugging asked her.
Michelle grinned. ├óÔé¼┼ôRight here├óÔé¼┬Ø She said, her voice a sing song. ├óÔé¼┼ôWha-├óÔé¼┬Ø The marine she was hugging backing up slightly. Then he fell in half, warm blood splashing Michelle's face.
├óÔé¼┼ôKILL HER!├óÔé¼┬Ø One of the marines shouted, bringing her ZX-49 up to bear. Then her arms detached and an inviable force slammed her against the wall. The two remaining marines tried to run, but then one of them split down the middle. The last marine ran, almost tripping on the blood. Then his head detached and blood gouted, splattering the floor. Michelle broke into a huge grin, feeling a growth of her power. Then she forced it down, smile fading. The power stood by, a coiled snake. But it didn't grow any more. Michelle turned around to the sobbing marine woman with no arms.
Michelle knelt next to her. The woman was muttering some litany under her breath. ├óÔé¼┼ôIts not going to be quick├óÔé¼┬Ø Michelle said softly, reaching out to brush the woman's hair away ├óÔé¼┼ôNot quick at all├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôOh please no├óÔé¼┬Ø the woman sobbed. Then Michelle got to work.
├óÔé¼┼ôWe've lost another five marines├óÔé¼┬Ø the report came in. Sarris sighed. ├óÔé¼┼ôI say├óÔé¼┬Ø she said ├óÔé¼┼ôWe pull back to this bit of the ship├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôNo├óÔé¼┬Ø Cain said ├óÔé¼┼ôThat will leave us with no where to go!├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôWait├óÔé¼┬Ø Sarris said, turning to Keller ├óÔé¼┼ôHow did that guy...Jason get on board?├óÔé¼┬Ø. ├óÔé¼┼ôUh├óÔé¼┬Ø Keller said. He just realized no one had asked Jason. He reached over to his computer console to ring up the room Lizzy and Jason had requested. He paused, not exactly sure if he wanted to press the button. Then he did so.
├óÔé¼┼ôGod├óÔé¼┬Ø Lizzy said, her face buried in Jason's side.
├óÔé¼┼ôHm?├óÔé¼┬Ø Jason asked. ├óÔé¼┼ôGod, I said├óÔé¼┬Ø Lizzy said ├óÔé¼┼ôAs in 'God that was...insane'├óÔé¼┬Ø.
├óÔé¼┼ôReally?├óÔé¼┬Ø Jason asked, feeling immensely proud all of a sudden.
Lizzy smiled, remembering the last two hours with fondness. She had had sex over the long period in which she had thought Jason dead. But she had only 'made' love a few times. Those were with Daniel, with Amber...with Mike. She forced those people out of her mind and rolled back on top of Jason. ├óÔé¼┼ôJason├óÔé¼┬Ø Lizzy said ├óÔé¼┼ôI think you're going to have to get ready again├óÔé¼┬Ø.
Jason smiled, ├óÔé¼┼ôI'm always ready├óÔé¼┬Ø
Lizzy grinned, ├óÔé¼┼ôLets see├óÔé¼┬Ø
Jason ran his hand over her back, slowly.
├óÔé¼┼ôJason├óÔé¼┬Ø Lizzy said ├óÔé¼┼ôDon't be gentle├óÔé¼┬Ø.
Jason ran his hand up her back and pulled her down, fingernails digging into her back. Lizzy hissed.
Then the phone rang. ├óÔé¼┼ôSon of a bitch!├óÔé¼┬Ø Lizzy muttered, looking over her shoulder.
Jason sighed ├óÔé¼┼ôIs it voice activated?├óÔé¼┬Ø he asked.
├óÔé¼┼ôCould be├óÔé¼┬Ø Lizzy said, ├óÔé¼┼ôThis is not a peep show├óÔé¼┬Ø.
├óÔé¼┼ôBlanket├óÔé¼┬Ø Jason said, reaching down and yanking the blanket up and over them. Lizzy lay down on him. For a moment Jason just enjoyed being close to her. It was like going years without having a drink, then finding a waterfall of century old wine. Then Lizzy had to spoil the sensation by rolling off of him, yanking large tracts of the blankets with her. Jason sat up and turned the phone on with a simple command.
├óÔé¼┼ôI hope I'm not interrupting anything├óÔé¼┬Ø Keller said.
├óÔé¼┼ôNo...nothing├óÔé¼┬Ø Jason said.
Lizzy laughed loudly and there was a sound of flesh striking flesh.
Keller blushed ├óÔé¼┼ôUh├óÔé¼┬Ø he said, ├óÔé¼┼ôHow did you get on board?├óÔé¼┬Ø
Jason blinked. The he started. ├óÔé¼┼ôOh, right├óÔé¼┬Ø he said, ├óÔé¼┼ôI came on the Persephone. Its a stealth ship, uses a very nifty little device thats been mostly lost to time├óÔé¼┬Ø.
├óÔé¼┼ôOh├óÔé¼┬Ø Keller said, ├óÔé¼┼ôWhat's you're carrying capacity?├óÔé¼┬Ø
├óÔé¼┼ôAbout ten or so├óÔé¼┬Ø Jason said, ├óÔé¼┼ôAnd its not really a long term ship. I just got out here by being very...very patient├óÔé¼┬Ø.
├óÔé¼┼ôYou had some inspiration too├óÔé¼┬Ø Lizzy said, her hand straying down. Jason shifted uncomfortably ├óÔé¼┼ôDo you need anything else├óÔé¼┬Ø he asked.
Keller, trying not to laugh, shook his head.
├óÔé¼┼ôPhone off├óÔé¼┬Ø Jason said. Then he looked at Lizzy.
├óÔé¼┼ôYou're sword is as sharp as ever, my lord├óÔé¼┬Ø Lizzy said.
├óÔé¼┼ôWhat?├óÔé¼┬Ø Jason asked.
Lizzy moved her hand around. Jason yelped, rolling on top of her.
├óÔé¼┼ôRemember├óÔé¼┬Ø Lizzy said, grinning.
├óÔé¼┼ôDon't...be...gentle├óÔé¼┬Ø Jason said. Then they got at it.
Gloria was tired. She had been up late, but this was just getting crazy. No sleep, no showers, not even talking to anything for three days, working on this damn...GUN! She picked up the thing and threw it against the wall. Then she immediately felt incredibly stupid. She picked the thing up and realized that she had bent the firing shaft. ├óÔé¼┼ôSon of a bitch, can I get any stupider?├óÔé¼┬Ø Gloria muttered, looking over the firing shaft. Then she realized...if you ran a wire from the firing shaft to the power cables, keeping the same MN core fluctuations. She picked up the bent, slightly damaged gun, and aimed it at her test vase.
She spun the gun up, holding the trigger down. Then it discharged and heat, light and wind slammed into Gloria's face. The vase had disintegrated, turned completely into plasma. ├óÔé¼┼ôHoly hell!├óÔé¼┬Ø Gloria said ├óÔé¼┼ôIt works! The damn thing works!├óÔé¼┬Ø. Her first MGN gun had broken when it had been fired had been set to over six hundred percent power. That had broken it almost completely, and Gloria really hadn't had the time to build an entirely new gun. She pressed the button on her computer and said ├óÔé¼┼ôKeller please├óÔé¼┬Ø.
Keller turned on his phone ├óÔé¼┼ôKeller here├óÔé¼┬Ø he said, ├óÔé¼┼ôWhat is it?├óÔé¼┬Ø.
├óÔé¼┼ôI've got it├óÔé¼┬Ø Gloria said, ├óÔé¼┼ôI've got it!├óÔé¼┬Ø.
├óÔé¼┼ôThe MNG?├óÔé¼┬Ø Keller asked. Everyone else on the bridge perked up, looking at him.
├óÔé¼┼ôYeah├óÔé¼┬Ø Gloria said ├óÔé¼┼ôIts ready!├óÔé¼┬Ø.
├óÔé¼┼ôThis is even better then this rocket thing!├óÔé¼┬Ø Cain said, slapping the rocket pistol.
├óÔé¼┼ôThat it is├óÔé¼┬Ø Keller said, looking at his generals, ├óÔé¼┼ôThat it is├óÔé¼┬Ø.
Sarris, grinning, hobbled over to Keller. She kissed him, and Keller enjoyed her proximity. Cain coughed ├óÔé¼┼ôYou know├óÔé¼┬Ø he said, ├óÔé¼┼ôI need to get me a girl├óÔé¼┬Ø.
Helena woke up with a pounding head ache. She looked around and saw that the hospital was empty, almost completely so. ├óÔé¼┼ôWhere is the wounded?├óÔé¼┬Ø she asked blearily. The doctor and the nurse who were both in the hospital jumped, turning around. ├óÔé¼┼ôOh├óÔé¼┬Ø the nurse said
├óÔé¼┼ôOh├óÔé¼┬Ø The doctor cut in ├óÔé¼┼ôThe wounded...there are no wounded. There's either those who are alive. Or those who are dead├óÔé¼┬Ø.
Helena felt cold ├óÔé¼┼ôWhere is the rest of my squad?├óÔé¼┬Ø she asked, trying to sit up. Then her head started to pound again.
├óÔé¼┼ôWhoa├óÔé¼┬Ø the nurse said, walking to her and placing his hands on her shoulders, ├óÔé¼┼ôStay still├óÔé¼┬Ø
Helena acquiesced as the doctor walked to her, holding a scanner. ├óÔé¼┼ôJust wait├óÔé¼┬Ø she said, ├óÔé¼┼ôWe'll get you on you're feet as soon as possible. We need people shot, don't we?├óÔé¼┬Ø.
Hicks sat in the same place he had before the attack. Mike, Mankowski and Glickson was there. Mike was brooding, looking at the corpse of the marine who had been mind fragged. Hicks felt as dead as the marine there. Everything seemed to be going dark.
├óÔé¼┼ôIts night time again├óÔé¼┬Ø Mankowski said, looking around.
├óÔé¼┼ôHmm?├óÔé¼┬Ø Glickson said.
├óÔé¼┼ôIts something in the air├óÔé¼┬Ø Mankowski said, his voice whimsical ├óÔé¼┼ôThere is a grim reaper on this ship, taking down our souls until there is no one left. We can't stop her. To stop her we would need...├óÔé¼┬Ø
├óÔé¼┼ôAn angle├óÔé¼┬Ø Eve said.
├óÔé¼┼ôYeah, an angle├óÔé¼┬Ø Mankowski said.
├óÔé¼┼ôThats right├óÔé¼┬Ø Hicks said, feeling happier all of a sudden, ├óÔé¼┼ôWe would need an angle├óÔé¼┬Ø.
├óÔé¼┼ôWho are you guys talking to?├óÔé¼┬Ø Mike asked, looking at the two of them.
├óÔé¼┼ôWhat?├óÔé¼┬Ø Hicks said, ├óÔé¼┼ôDidn't you say we need an Angle?├óÔé¼┬Ø.
Michelle walked down the hallway. Fifteen marines stood at the end of the hall, guns raised. ├óÔé¼┼ôSTOP!├óÔé¼┬Ø the leader shouted. Michelle grinned and snapped her forearm blades out. The men opened up and bullets poured down the corridor. Michelle ran forward, pushing the bullets aside with her mind. The bullets smashed into the walls around her and she rammed into the marine formation, blood lust singing in her veins. She slammed both blades into a marines face, blood splattering. She loved it. She loved the power, the feeling of combat. Michelle threw herself into the battle with the lust of a madman.
Lizzy slapped a new magazine into the gun and handed it to Jason. He looked it over and smiled. ├óÔé¼┼ôThank you dear├óÔé¼┬Ø he said.
├óÔé¼┼ôDon't mention it├óÔé¼┬Ø Lizzy smiled, ├óÔé¼┼ôNow do you have any more of those bolt guns or something?├óÔé¼┬Ø
├óÔé¼┼ôNo├óÔé¼┬Ø Jason said, ├óÔé¼┼ôUnfortunately I've only the one. Didn't think you'd be fighting the devil herself...├óÔé¼┬Ø.
The two of them walked into the bridge. ├óÔé¼┼ôWe're ready to go├óÔé¼┬Ø Lizzy said, snapping off a salute to Keller.
├óÔé¼┼ôGood├óÔé¼┬Ø Keller said ├óÔé¼┼ôWe've tracked Michelle down to a cafeteria...the cameras show us that she's there. But you're going to have to see this for you're self├óÔé¼┬Ø.
He sounded sick, gesturing to the computer screen. Lizzy looked at it, Jason following her. Then she felt sick too.
Michelle was...playing with a marine. Playing in the same way a little child would rip the wings off a fly, or tear the legs from a spider. ├óÔé¼┼ôThis won't be over for a long time├óÔé¼┬Ø Michelle said, looking at the marine, who was sobbing uncontrollably. No wonder, with half her body...like that...
├óÔé¼┼ôWe've found recordings├óÔé¼┬Ø Keller said softly, ├óÔé¼┼ôOf her doing this to other marines. All female...├óÔé¼┬Ø.
Lizzy chewed her lip ├óÔé¼┼ôSo what do we do?├óÔé¼┬Ø.
├óÔé¼┼ôThis├óÔé¼┬Ø Keller said, slipping a gun out of his holster. He handed it to Lizzy.
├óÔé¼┼ôYou'll only get one shot├óÔé¼┬Ø Gloria piped up from the corner of the room, ├óÔé¼┼ôAnd even that will only take her out if you get the weak point all S-02 have somewhere├óÔé¼┬Ø.
├óÔé¼┼ôRight├óÔé¼┬Ø Lizzy said, looking down the bizarre heft of the weapon, ├óÔé¼┼ôJason you distract her, I line up a killing shot├óÔé¼┬Ø.
├óÔé¼┼ôDon't you want back up?├óÔé¼┬Ø Keller asked.
├óÔé¼┼ôHow many marines do we have left?├óÔé¼┬Ø Lizzy asked, ├óÔé¼┼ôThirty? Twenty? Less then that?├óÔé¼┬Ø
Keller sighed ├óÔé¼┼ôForty, at last cou-├óÔé¼┬Ø.
Sarris looked away, finger going to her ear as the universal sing she was taking a call. ├óÔé¼┼ôFifteen more casualties├óÔé¼┬Ø she said softly ├óÔé¼┼ôAnd Michelle has moved down the cafeteria hallway and into the hydroponics├óÔé¼┬Ø.
The room was silent. ├óÔé¼┼ôThis mission├óÔé¼┬Ø Lizzy said, breaking the silence, ├óÔé¼┼ôIs for every single man, woman or child that died fighting the raiders...Michelle. All of them├óÔé¼┬Ø she looked at Jason .
├óÔé¼┼ôLets give her hell├óÔé¼┬Ø
Will perform on guillotine

├óÔé¼┼ôDid you see the woman? The woman who did this!├óÔé¼┬Ø one of the marines asked.
├óÔé¼┼ôWhere is she?├óÔé¼┬Ø the marine she was hugging asked her.
Michelle grinned. ├óÔé¼┼ôRight here├óÔé¼┬Ø She said, her voice a sing song. ├óÔé¼┼ôWha-├óÔé¼┬Ø The marine she was hugging backing up slightly. Then he fell in half, warm blood splashing Michelle's face.
