Minbarrelangle=1 is broken in this Spring version, but I wasn't intending to limit it. I suppose that, if a unit got right next to it, it'd look dumb firing down, but you're just never going to notice it, I think. I wish Spring had a Maxbarrelangle TDF tag, so that I could prevent this from ever happening, period, but <shrug> it's not that big of a deal anyhow.
You could script the barrel limits easily enough, though the weapon would still fire from larger/smaller angles.
Anywho, I haven't played the old one, but this does look rather fun. And stunningly pretty.

After having my first introduction to nanoblobs play last night (using the 0.2 release) I'm sold on the concept. I'm very looking forward to the 0.3!!

Glad you like it.
BTW, if anybody out there is a BOS animator, has free time and a commitment to quality... and would like a chance to work with Wolfe Games on its next project, please PM/Email me. We will be working on a futuristic combat game with a much more realism-based tone and feel.
My current animator is having problems getting things done, which is one of the reasons why we've been having trouble meeting our release schedule. I can animate, but I'd rather be spending my time on the other things that I need to do to get game designs working- in short, the more help I get, the faster we can get games into everybody's hot little hands.
More information (i.e., screenies/hype) about our next project will be available as soon as NanoBlobs 0.3 is released, but I'm taking applications now.

Sounds like CZTA. But that's back to the old TA engine right now. Give me a shout on it sometime

You can get 0.2 from fileuniverse, or you can get 0.3 when it's released...

Love the new sheep model. Look too much like lizards though. Meh.

... just thought this was really atmospheric. Still working on the Lord- animations are complete, but I'm having a problem with a couple of minor things. Just need to get the Square Rook done, polish a bit more, then ... release. We're reeeeeally close now.

Can't wait.
I can smell the King of NanoBlobs (KoNB) already!

KoNB ftw.

lol, that'll be [KoNb]NTAIXE7.5, literally unbeatable, even further overshadowed by XE8 muhahahahahahhahahahaha.
I take it the big floating thing is a square rook? It reminds me of aztecs, but it looks like it's too plain, as if it's textures are just block colours with reflective turned on to make them pretty.. And it needs a shave too =p
The sheep look much much much better though.. I expected the holder to be larger tho...

isn't that a lord? Looks more lord-ey than rook-ey

That group shot looks dam sexy (and not jsut cause I know that map

) everything looks realy wild!! Kinda crossing japanes weirdness with modern tech, without ending up with gundam (which has lost the weirdness of japanes)
Some of those would not look out of place in a Hayao Miyazaki movie.

Thats a lord. As far as I can tell, a square rook is basically a pyramid with a weapon and legs stuck on.
