I doubt that most of us original games do, as a result, we get less exposure here.

a lot of people read the forums but I just don't want more to maintain.

Just do what I did. I wanted the exposure but don't have time/patience to be active on two main forums for my mod, so I just asked swift to make my forum reply only, so users can only reply to threads that I make. I now have a link to my main forums in the spring forums, allowing me the exposure without the effort.

Also, Argh, I didn't intend to chase you off the forums if I had any involvement, but I do think that dealing with a bit of inanity is part and parcel of being a denizen on the internet, and definitely being a lead dev of a game. My IW art thread is mostly inanity, and my forums are slowly being enveloped by a torrent of noobs and twelve year olds - it's just something you have to deal with.

1. I wasn't "chased off". I just got pissed and decided it was time to quit bothering with release threads here.

2. It's nothing in particular anybody has done.

Been here four years, and people are just plain fucking rude here. It's tiring.

The changes made should have been made ages ago. Then I probably would have wanted to stay, and would have made more of an effort to direct outside-world traffic here. But the chance to do that was when I first brought this up, which was, shit, over two years ago IIRC, or even four months ago, when I brought it up again after the bullshit with Merc Squad nearly made me quit being here at all. Too little, too late, every goddamn time.

I've been on many sites, and part of several communities. I don't find this one any more or less helpful then the majority of others that have a similar level of activity. Any authoritarian management type changes would serve to kill off the life of the forums as well as the stupidity (note, stupidity != vitality, they're simply related).

If you can't deal with it, then perhaps the best answer is to remove yourself from here and set up your own forums/community interaction type thing. Smoth's forums have been very successful for him.

<shrugs> it's the timing of things, man. Some of us don't like it when we have to wait years for things that are obviously useful to happen.

And while I'm talking to you, wtf is your malfunction, anyhow? You've been nothing but a bitter asshole around here since KDR / z started to polish KP. Make a new game or something. You're just wasting time, if you think I'm going to cross swords with you in more than jest. I really don't like arguing with people who aren't doing anything useful, and "being an asshole" doesn't count.

I really don't see the point of your behavior, basically, since you were a fairly nice guy before you decided that you hated everything. What happened, and is there anything that can be done that would change your attitude? I mean, hell, I don't even really remember what set you off originally, but you're not really helping by being a dick all the time.

Perhaps a little bit of discussion is in order here. Not to derail or whatever, but meh, I'm not really interested in discussing what I've done anymore, it's done.

Dude, you just threw a hissy fit that you weren't going to post updates about your mod here anymore because a feature most people liked, and you yourself suggested four months ago, got implemented.

I just can't read that and not call you on your bullshit. I guess I just have a really low tolerance for immature, self-centered retards with delusions of importance.
