Uninspired but nothing technically wrong with the model. You can generally get away without having to hollow out barrels and such though.

PURE is a mod by Argh and some other guys. It's pretty sweet, I think he needs people to model the other sides. It's a mod where stuff gets dropped in for a build animation. Not too much else, Argh can probably PM you about it.

My first model (that i made for a purpose), it is the chassis/base (w/e) for the human light aa vehicle, i know it sucks but, hey i need peoples oppinions. (and possibly help)

At the very least, double the polycount on the barrel.

If you actually want it to have it polygonal and not cylindrical shape, detail the barrel more, so that it's more obvious that the barrel is meant to be like that, and isn't just a very low poly fake of a cylinder. Have a look at how much detail goes into the barrels of some of the S:1944 tanks to get a good idea of how much detail you can easily get away with for something like this.

Once you have a decent barrel designed, those tend to texture themselves. The hard part of the texture are the big flat areas, which you've dealt with fine.

Alright, when it's finished.

Zsinj: the barrel is actually supposed to be a cuboid, I don't really like round barrels. Hm... texture's too dark, wanted it to look like a hose.

Well, if it's meant to be a cuboid, then detail it a bit more. Maybe chamfer the edges a bit, have a few greebles, perhaps have some repeated 'inset' areas, sort of like a grille on the side.

The stripey texture there isn't really telling us much about the barrel, how it works, other then 'its stripey'.
