I like it. The other arm seems to be a little odd, as it entirely lacks a bicep, and I think the geometry of the model is a little untidy in areas, particularly the connection of the gun to the arm, and then to the shoulder; I also think that you are trying to get too much detail into the head using geometry, when much of it can be textured in.

Those criticisms aside, I think it's a strong design and has a certain style to it.

when you examine it properly there is some little tiny pointless faces and other faces which just dont connect to the over head view. But i probably don't know anything about this because i have never done it myself.

im cleaning up the model now its got alot of flaws its still a WIP :p

and shaved off alot of uneeded polys especially on head and connected arm properly redoing legs i think

has it got a name? i would call it a 'brute' cos it is fat with a huge gun.

You should remodel this mess from scratch. Use cubes or 5-6 sided cylinders as starting point for the various limbs.

It's not that bad, aside from the head, which is a mess of wasted triangles... the arms and legs, which have some subdivision that's completely un-necessary, could be fixed with minor pain, simply by collapsing some verts.

Argh are you models from an upcomming mod, i'm afraid i've missed all talk from where they are going, they do like pretty immense.

Yes, they're going to be in a game that uses Spring.

Someone can't take criticism.

What you need is a good workflow and to learn how to model in a clean way. The rest comes by itself in most cases. Redoing things from scratch over and over again gets you better, eventually.

ok

I'm just going to say this. If he is willing to UV map it, WHO CARES how many polygons it is. It's been said before, polygons, at least on this low scale make little difference. Granted, we can't have everyone making 5,000 triangle flashes, but in this case, I think his first model was the best. As far as your Model Newb WIP thread, that's disgraceful to say the least, the harsh criticism you're giving some of the newer modellers isn't to kind. You're an admin, don't be a dirtbag.

Hmmm, just noticed the lack of knees. Might want to put those in if you don't want your guy goose-stepping around the place.

It's for their and your own good. Do you say your teacher is being overly harsh when they tell you that 2 + 2 = 4, not 5?

The fundamentals of a good work flow and understanding your tools are as important to modelling as addition is to mathematics.

See that face I highlighted? It needs to be flat, and looking at the surrounding geometry I'd bet it isn't. Try connecting some of the vertices. Wings has a tool Select->By->NonPlanarFaces, use it.
