Ok, after a bit of a mess, we're really ready to have the MP Beta. Follow these instructions:
1.
Install this version of Spring.
2.
Install this Settings.exe in your Spring installation directory. Run it, and it will ask you where "unitsync.dll" is. Browse to the correct installation directory, and you will be able to properly configure your settings.
3. Open up TASClient... and log into the Test Server, which is at this address: 82.239.138.44
That's all you need to do, to finally play P.U.R.E. online with other people. I'll be up there in about an hour and a half, hope to see other folks tonight

Ah. Well, then tomorrow then, I'll be around in the afternoon / evening, now that getting a test game up is straightforward.

great, it works, some suggestions:
-make the voices a bit less loud
-the things you need to hack for energy and metal are seen as enemy's on radar, that should be changed

I don't have new beta yet.
The hack works great but Widgets still don't work for me

. This means no usable healthbars. There's also the alt-tab bug which is a bit of a pain.

I don't have new beta yet.
If you have the new Spring installed... make sure you've run that hacked SpringSettings that Koshi made, that I put up a download link for.
Direct it to the unitsync.dll in that install directory, and then check and make sure that "Enable LuaUI Widgets" and "Fix rendering on alt tab" are on. If Widgets still don't work at that point, then you probably need to wipe out the Registry entries for 0.77a1, and check and make sure that you're editing the right settings with the settings application.
Does Spring operate properly when you just run it from the main executable, btw, or are Widgets, etc., still screwed up then, too?

You can use it on the 8300 port that is another instance dedicated to 0.77 players.
The 8200 instance is the classic backup server. Some players 0.76 are often lost on the backup server and you could experience version conflicts with them.

MP Beta 2 has been sent out to testers. Thus far, it's been a lot of fun. Unit relevance still needs some work, of course, but other than early Air rush by Resistance, things looked pretty healthy, balance-wise. Had a couple of games on World Builder maps, and they went quite nicely

Yes, that's correct- it's the second balance release, in mutator format. Not a major milestone.
Currently, the releases have been like this:
Beta / World Builder / Maps
Balance Beta 01 / World Builder
Balance Beta 02
I know that's confusing, but meh, it's how it is.

Pure with Balance Beta 02 won't start because it says it needs OTA content so it can laod the default cursors, getting OTA content doesn't fix the problem. The un-mutated Pure balance beta runs without OTA content.

Hmm. Looked over the Infolog, it gave no hints as to why it crashed. Seems very... strange... that it wants otacontent.sdz, when none of the files call that as a dependency. Very strange, and I've just run it both SP and MP over here, and the bug hasn't happened on my end. Any other beta-testers seeing this one?

Yeah, I forgot about that, I intended to bring it up when I saw it committed. The message about otacontent.sdz is hardcoded when the cursors aren't found (which it quite clearly shouldn't be, especially as I added a cursors.sdz to base which has erom's set. It should default to those if none are found, imo).
Strange that your mutator is having difficulties if your original package isn't.
