Yeah, S3o is better, but, your less likely to rip your head off and/or commit suicide with 3do

That gun seems to have some wasted polygons. O_o

The tred/wheels will never be seen, [except by the best players who use total war view ^_^] I think my current guns are around 500 triangles, and they've got 5 guns in them.

^_~ ^_~ ^_~ ^_~ ^_~

The wheels are the only thing which waste polygons but I couldn't care less when the overall polycount is that low.

I don't know about you but to me 3do is a surefire recipe for pain. Texturing 3dos is just... bah.

Well I think it's ok as you probably won't have many faces in your model when doing 3dos. So just keep hitting F12 and F11 and click on the textures you want...

Besides with the redone tileset from CA the models look pretty good (no more totally unsharp / washed out faces - maybe I'll show how the models I did look with that textures...

When you have few faces you don't have much to worry about when UVing stuff.

This in my opinion is my only "good" model, the Europian Commander, for The Plot of War.

Click to make it bigger.

In case anyone cares, once I'm done with BloX, I'm getting right on getting The Plot of War back under control.

And you tell me I wasted polygons.

If there were more references than this...

I guess I'll redo the tracks entirely and remove the wheels but their caps. 158 tris is indeed a bit much.

@rcdraco:
It's not really bad but you seem to have no real idea of where your faces should go and so you end up with lots of parallel flat faces at many positions. I also think you started with a cylinder for the middle hull and then just extruded every face whatsoever...
If that's the case it might have been better to start with a box - this way you probably also would have done a real cockpit instead of connecing all cylinder vertices with a single vertex and thus creating a cone with different colors as front...

Well now back to some of my work again. I recently tried to do a Light Fusion Plant for Core while using a CEG instead of the poor spheres the plants had as center (thx for XTA being a good learning source):
Image Image
Well besides the strange texture distortion you see on the trapeze faces in the ingame shot (There is no way to prevent that is there?) I think it just doesn't look "Core" enough. So maybe what's your opinion about this...

Oh and while I'm showing something off: Here's the Core Punkie basically a Flea ripoff...

Did you make the barrel a seperate model so it can move inwards when the tank shoots?

Rattle, I always imagined the barrels of the siege tank more like this:

excuse the crappy modelling, just whipped this up quickly because it was easier then explaining.

Well, speaking of tank wheels that will never be seen...

I think the wheels on this one will be seen quite often.
