I would like it added, It stops people whoring air and gives good use to the carriers. Perhaps arms submersible aircraft carrier (The Whale) could be added back in?

What's this "whoring air" problem you speak of? Perhaps you could provide more details?

The aircraft carrier has a theoretical use right now - it's a floating air repair pad, fusion reactor, and anti-nuke.

You know, Building nothing but fighters, bombers and brawlers.

Also, Can the level 2 amphibious tanks be given an AA rocket. At the moment, Amphibious assualts are easily killed by air :O

If you build any AA at all, anyone stupid enough to do that gets owned hard. What's the problem?

Yeah I've nver seen anyone able to effectively 'air whore'.

firstly, 100% air = 100% loss. your opponent scouts, he then expands, he then wins.
late game this is slightly more true, a small group of brawlers can make a fearsome defense let alone ARMs EMP bombers. T2 AA kbot anyone? :) but this is counterable, mercuries, YOUR OWN AIR FORCE, AA both conventional in nearby support bases and mobile.

secondly. wtf. amphibous tanks. they go. UNDER. THE. WATER. come on what use is a AA rocket. NOONE uses amphib tanks UNLESS there is some uncrossable but small ford or something. they are simply to slow unless we are talking about the ol' stick a amphib plant close to the shore and get them. even so i think that hovers are a FAR superior way to go about thinks, for starters the arty hovercraft is comparitively mobile and versatile, the tank hover gets depth charges (obviously no hover can be hit by subs in the first place) and you get AA hovers scout hover and even radar jammer hovers!

Of course, Amphib tanks have nothing to fear when they land, because while on land, They are "under water", and therefore immune to rockets. Hovers get eaten alive by anything, becuase they cost lots and have shit armor, And your air force isn't much good against his airforcve because you are on HIS turf. Therefore, hes going to have shiloads of Mecuries or General AA.

oh ffs drone! what is it with you? why do you have to always press a stupid point which none other than yourself agrees on? If you need AA for your anphib assult force, build some bloody fighters! build some support ships! build some long range missile towers! You'll want bloody peewees to have their own AA next because they (quite rightly) get owned when you fail as usual to send any support along with them!
And your air force isn't much good against his airforcve because you are on HIS turf.
Do you even think before you post? What use are a couple of piddly little aa rockets on a few tanks going to do if your entire airforce cant deal with the problem!

graggh!

Y'know, the L1 SAM kbots could be made amphibious. It would provide a good way to try to prevent brawler-defense from wiping out amphibious assaults. Also, their being amphibs would provide a good reason for being so completely-freaking-pathetic.

Jethros/Crashers are far from pathetic. IIRC, someone did a test a few versions back (FireCrack? Steve?) and one Jethro can generally take out two Brawlers. They don't scale well (air can take out a swarm of them really well) but they're fine as early-game or support for bigger AA weapons, which is all they're really intended for.

As others have pointed out, there's no problem with air support in the rare even of amphibious units actually being useful. Arm has the Pelican. Have a few of those tag along behind your tanks, watch what happens. For both sides, you have:

1) Support ships. Nasty, fairly long-ranged AA support. Kills subs too.

2) AA Hovers. Keep 'em behind the tanks, use their speed to zip up and pwn his air when they pop up.

3) Your own aircraft. Stealth fighters are your friends. You should be able to eat up a sizable chunk of his air before they die, allowing options 1 and 2 to finish them off.

Oh, and Drone? Cost-for-cost, Hovers don't look that much worse off HP-wise than Amphibs, especially since they're much faster, which means they can start shooting at enemy defences faster.

Well, it's just a personal experience - I did an amphib assault on Small Supreme against a coastline guarded with naval cannons and LRAA (dunno why he didn't have shoreline DC launchers), and while the amphib attack did some terrifying damage it was ultimately pwned by a defensive gunship swarm. L2 fighters would've been the way to go, but I didn't have any.

maybe, just MAYBE the idea is that the amphibious units COULD be countered by something? and MAYBE this thing could possibly be the magical "AIR" caste units in your army. they do not need any antiair, the arm pelican has a small missile, and the core amphi(crock?) has a torpedo, while the pelican missile wont blast 50 brawlers with a nuclear warhead, it is a useful _Add_ to the unit capbilities.

if it werent air units to counter amphibious units, what then? on SSB, you suddenly get attacked by 20 crocks and get raped , the next thing you'll do is to come here whining that crocks are overpowered and they need nerf(i know, let's make them land only!) , or your amphibious army gets raped by gunships. lol

Oh yes. Lord knows that, except for fighting aircraft, amphibs are horribly overpowered. After all, they don't get ripped to shreds by subs, torpedo launchers, shoreline DC launchers, and their land-based counterparts.

I just don't see how this is any different from the "kbot L2 needs an AA unit", that's all. I guess I'm just spoiled as a Core player, since Core can bring along Karganeths in all-terrain attacks - when doing the naval-map equivalent to the Karg-and-spider attack, I don't have that option.

I actually don't think we should get L2 AA bots.

I support the idea of a L2 AA bot, so long as it's not as powerful as the L2 flak tank.

Been away for three days. Will review topic when I get a chance and post my remarks.

However, in the meantime, I have some food for thought:
