You may have wondered why the new gui version is delayed a bit. Well here is the answer:
SailAway

It's not a remake of the original, but it's inspired by it. If someone is going to make a exact copy of the OTA map, i'll change the name of this one!
10 islands, some river-like side paths and a centre-canal from north to south make this map aan good east vs west. It's meant to hold 4-6 players.
Thx to the L3DT tut of forboding i managed to make the map half Bryce Pro and half L3DT.
Here are the screens:
Enjoy!

Islands may look very un-flat, but most are good buildable.
Wind is relatively high, but your build space is relatively low, so you must decide what to do.
atm it indeed is feature-less. Anyone who wants to make features? or does someone wants specific features in it? Let me know for a V10 release :)

Photoshop first
L3dt 2.3 for making heightmap more natural
Photoshop retouche to make all slopes and cliffs right.
L3dt 2.4 beta for making texturemap, esspecially for beach sand/water.
Bryce 5.5 Pro for making texturemap, esspecially for grass, rocks and cliffs.
Photshop To stich mosaic files from l3dt together and merge bryce render with it. Added colorisation on grassy areas, added seabed textures, added desaturated cliffs, added highlights, added extra shadowing, added metal patches.
Mapconv to get them all together
7-zip to make it a .sd7 map file
TA Spring to make the screenshots
Photoshop to resize screenshots and add logo and text
FlashFXP to upload screenshots to server
File Universe to upload map
TA Spring forum to post this mostly useless post

haha are we going over the water color again like centerrock?AF wrote:if you do do a V10 release, change the colour of the sky from yellow/orange so it fits in more with the map. Remember water is blue because the sky is blue, if the sky is orange the water should be orange and the same for any other colour.
I only like the water to have a bit less transparency, so on the maps edges you can still see the water, and that boats don't seem to float (in fps cam).
I was really just befuddled at how strange it is to have an orange sky and blue water, apart from being unrealistic, or having to explain they dumped hudnreds of gallons fo blue paitn in the water ebfore the commanders arrived, the 2 contrasting colours make the map edge stand out even more.
I'm not saying make the water orange to fit the sky, I'm saying make the sky blue to fit the water.
