No, it's always the client's job to provide specifics so the client always gets what they want, and not some half-assed shit.

Neuralize:
I think you are wright. Anyway, i guess that the best is to make them 32bpp.

About the style, we don't know what the style of the interface will be. So i supose we can try to make everything along the same style of the old TA.

Considering this, the logo should use about the same color theme as the OTA one as well as the menus (greenish ones) and so the aliances buttons should look good within that theme.

Anyway, i think we've got a winner already.

Wolfy:
Those are really cool. Very good indeed. If nothing else comes in, the game will not be poorly served with those buttons.

I dont think those look good

Anyways, at this rate the client will be a hodge podge fo different styles of graphics. Decide on a theme before you put it all together! Think of the big picture!

basically right now im just looking for the stuff ill actually need to use in the client. in this case, a 4 state button and logos to serve as convenient placeholder spacing that i need. Afterwards, a theme can be built by someone more experience and (cough) more visually creative than me.

Now that's the real problem...
Probably the best is to consider the theme of the original TA as the one to be used, at least until/if a new theme is decided.

The OTA theme is mostly futuristic-computorized greenish menus or metalic looking menus.

Perhaps a theme swapper might be in order after teh first theme is finalised, it would make it easier to mod the theme for those who prefer a custom job etc etc.

Okay, does the total size need to be... 25x25 for each state?

Try vector graphics, then they can be resized to fit.

Every image of mine that I've shown you in this forum is derived from a vector base. And mind you, Vector isn't the end all, solve all that one wants to think it is. Vector loses a lot of sharpness when you have to save to a lossless format with tiny deminsions, usually resulting in pixel by pixel rehash that sometimes takes longer then creating an entirely new one pixel by pixel.
