Is there any infolog or stack trace with more details that could help?

@Beherith:
0.193 contains a crash-fix, please try that first. getting stacktraces etc seems to be broken on windows because of missing debug symbols. what does "occasional" mean? does it require user input to trigger the crash, does it happen on battle join / map-change / ...? running with logging options enabled maybe helps as well...

Occasional -> after running for a couple of hours, while just idling in lobby.
Great fix on reconnect after resuming from sleep though :) Much appreciated!

can you give details? it worked for me... is there an error message? "doesn't work" isn't useful.

it was just the "cannot connect to server" message

I rebooted and now it is fine. So maybe it was something else etc. Not sure, I booted, started the lobby, updated, it didn't connect, I immediately rebooted. Problem seems solved. if others have the issue the information is here.

maybe dns failed and the result was cached:

reducing MaxNegativeCacheTtl could help if you have this problem more often.

but i can only guess what happen, no clue atm. regardingless of that, the error message sucks, has to be more verbose: http://springrts.com/phpbb/posting.php? ... 4&p=558600

Thanks :) When it updated the SL that was updating didn't close itself and crashed while the updater was running - but the new SL it then spawned works beautifully!

[15:05:49] ** Server ** Timeout assumed, disconnecting. Received no data from server for 60 seconds. Last ping send 112 seconds ago.
[15:05:50] ** Left Battle.

This got fixed?

depends, this still can happen when the server "hangs" and sends no data for a long time. is this message with springlobby 0.199?

Yup. Just updated it and joined battle and soon after that message :) Internetz was working the whole time.

Server didnt seem to go down in any way. Also thats a lot of seconds, previous ones were like around 60 seconds, so this is much better.

Two ideas, to battle smurfs and trolls:

1: A rep system through the lobby

After someone has played a game, they get the ability to give a reputation point to one person, with the rep givers hours played rank counting as points, (ie a private could give one point, a ghost could give 8)

A part B: to this would be the players rep points would count towards their voting power.

To clarify 1, as i think abma misunderstood it:
After a game, people could rep another player who they think played well, as in, was a good sport, or helped the team, etc.

Then people, who have received more rep points would have higher voting power.

2: Rank and TS determine first choice in color, once "veteran" is reached.

This would encourage players not to smurf a bit, , and allow vets a little more personality beyond a name.

[20:57:49] * BlackHoleHost2 * [LOeT]Station, you have already voted for current vote.
[20:58:55] ** Server ** Timeout assumed, disconnecting. Received no data from server for 60 seconds. Last ping send 20421 seconds ago.
[20:58:55] ** Left Battle.

All that while battleroom still lives on and my internetz otherwise works. And whats with the ping thing, sometimes its over 60 000 seconds? :p

Next lobby should have an option to "dont assume anything". Or just roll back a few releases to pre-assuming :)
