(Mac latop) backspace does not delete chat, creates squares
Some noob on Mac laptop could not use backspace to delete typed chat.
When pressing backspace it made a square symbol and text was not cleared.

I suffer from same issue with my Gentoo Linux, it's caused by a bug in newest SDL.

That happened to me in zk (windows), had to kill the game and rejoin it.

Funny - my backspace works, but DEL creates the square (gentoo linux64).

Yeah I have the same problem.
And an additional keyboard problem on Mac is the alt key. It works for allies chat (alt+enter) but it does not work for line bombing for example, or to include units in the front of the building queue.
Does anyone know what could solve this?

Any solution for this problem?
Re: (Mac latop) backspace does not delete chat, creates squa
I am a mac user. And this has always frustrated me. Delete does not work it chat. Just makes squares. So I either spam incomprehensible team chat during intense parts of a game or I have to type really slow and make sure that I dont make any typos in the whole message. It is really annoying.

thanks for reporting, will be fixed in 95.0: http://springrts.com/mantis/view.php?id=3810Zealot wrote:Delete does not work it chat.
about alt, no clue atm.

I read some where that alt is supposed to let you insert new commands at the start of a build que. But it has never worked for me. Good to know that this is another mac bag, I have to redo my whole order que's each time I want to change something.
What is line bombing? I've got a feeling it has never worked on my mac...

Tested on macbook, alt+click has no effect. It doesn't even add the unit to the queue, nothing happens. I know alt is detected because the keyboard menu widget shows that it's being depressed. Spring 94.1.

Yea there is something going wrong with alt key on Mac, it is a huge problem with line bombing because alt doesn't work.CarRepairer wrote:Tested on macbook, alt+click has no effect. I had to modify customformations to get line bombing but now I have some other issues.
Any idea to solve this?

edit: alt doesn't work correctly on ubuntu, too because it is a global key that opens the "start menu". even when spring has grabinput enabled / is running fullscreen the ubuntu menu opens when pressing alt.
