Remember when 5 flash was a deadly force?
When you could get away with just building gators all game and it worked?
When stumpy spam was generally considered to be a good strategy?
When raiders were a hard counter to both HLT and samsons?
When you could run circles around a golly with flash and weasels?
When you could do real feint maneuvers on CCR?
Refresh those skills.

Bring back the simpler balance of Older BA version but this time actually remove the other useless/unfun/redundant units?

Its not about stats balancing, its about unit handling. When you issue a move order to a moving flash nowdays, it slows down while turning. Didnt use to be the case.

Devs fixed it in spring master like 9 months ago, but seems that lots of other problems have been holding the release back. So we've been playing with the sucky unit behavior so long people have forgotten how it used to be better.BaNa wrote:Its not about stats balancing, its about unit handling. A lot of old spring funtimes comes down to this change. it was 1997, i had 3 hours long game in OTA, map 2 contintets (big sea in middle, small contintets at both sides), LAN game vs friend. I won, was exausthed, but WHAT a GAME :)
Then it was 2006, game of XTA on CPIA. I had 60 krogs .. yet they barely killed opponent :D
TA was my all time favourite RTS in 1997 and is still now in 2011. Must be some kind of record

Ta when it came out most of the time I played on small maps because my pc was already 2 years old. When I got to college I had upgraded my rams so I could do bigger maps.
TA scaled really well and over time we were able to play larger and larger maps at lans.
I suspect that as long as spring still runs, we may have a future like that for all spring games.

I have the feeling it's even worse with engine 83.0. Flashes now stop to turn very very often. It's no longer the raid unit it used to be...Beherith wrote:Remember when 5 flash was a deadly force?
