Did you have a nice summertime?

Post by KaiserJ »

i realize this is hemispherically biased;

looked at the calendar today (not just checking what i had to do, but really looked) and realized that i haven't done anything fun or interesting... all i've done is work and now it's the end of august

did you do anything fun this summer? let me live vicariously through you!

is this "months of bleh" unusual, or is it just something i can look forward to year after year as i approach my grave?

my summer was meh. I am getting great experience at my new job. My new job requires a lot of outside study. Yeah, my project before this one was really stressful so I'd rate my summer as meh. My fall may be better once I get these certs out of the way.

also FU SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE AND YOU ABILITY TO SKI RIGHT NOW! I am so jealous!

I managed to go camping a whole 2 times, and put shitloads of time and effort into trying to fix my bike only to realise now, at the end of summer, that it is effectively a write off. Gives me plenty of time to save up for a new one in spring at least...

0 river swimming
0 BBQs
0 staying-up-all-night-on-a-hill-to-watch-the-sunrise
0 croquet while drinking pimms (norly, you should try this one)

I think I got at least 1 game of tennis in, and plenty of frisbee at least.

i shouldn't bitch too much i guess; i hung out with my girl and friends and stuff a lot on the weekends; watched plenty of sports, played games and stuff...

i think as a christmas present to myself this year i'm going to rent a cottage for a few weeks next summer so i can just go and wind down... weekends just don't cut it when you spend a lot of the time thinking that you're back to work on monday; not to mention that i haven't jumped in a lake for what seems like a few years now :<

so who wants to get a group rate on some vacation next summer :D somewhere cheap like central america plox

My summer was mostly very busy. I learned some interesting stuff, but I didn't really get a break, nor was I able to go on any trips. I did do some fun, short day-long activities like jet-skiing when I had a little time and watched a few movies with my boyfriend.

I think that Christmas will be better. People complain about the Christmas holidays and how bad drivers are and how depressing they can be, but I've always liked them.

Not really, massive bitch of a school quarter, 18 credit hours and none of them electives or throwaways, all tough engineering classes.

I'm looking forward to getting back to a 40 hr/week coop, I'll have so much time I won't know what to do with myself.

sounds bit strange. the only reason for outsiders to visit iran is searching for the nuclear weapon.

hf tho

Don't talk about politics.

also Whomb is right of course... if there was any reason to go to iran, then they would advertise it on TV as holiday resort. which indirectly proves that stuff they claim, like thousands of years of culture and so on, is just lies!

Mostly studied, so nothing that would thrill you.

Why something needs to be done in summer? What's so special in it? I prefer Autumn. It's great time in here Scandinavia as it is in there land of maple trees and kingdom of Elizabeth II, KaiserJ isn't it?

Had a bunch of cousins over (6 blue eyed blonde haired little kids all under 15 yrs, 1 of them a girl -- had such a hard time keeping track of their names XD) and went jetskiing with them (actually went again with a friend to a lake near here before class today ;) )

My dad started teaching me to fly. He has this old Bonanza from the 40's that he just recently got. Its really awesome, especially on nice days.

My bike broke down again, need to replace the petcock I think... it gets fuel starved every time I touch the throttle. Hopefully that will fix the issues

Other than that, just messing around with my computer, being miserably hot anytime I go outside even for a walk, and procrastinating while I should be doing productive things :| All in all though, Its been pretty good.
