Deus Ex Human Revolution

Post by PicassoCT »

The holy grail of story telling is out.

Anybody bought it? Played it? We in europe have to wait another 3 days for our mediocre synchronized crap. Switch english audio on? Was there ever german audio?

I am no graphics freak, but releasing a game in year 2011 w/o any textures ... not acceptable. Esp. not after DeusEx2 failed such much...

You didn't played it then. It has no textures, all faces are flat in a single color (not even normalmapping!), teleporting you back into 1994 with games like starfox ...
No city is 100% clean, textures need dirt/noise!

JK probably fucked his graphics drivers up.

That's not because of localization but because of distribution chains. In Europe games arrive at the stores on Thursday (restocking after a sellout also happens on Thursdays) so they usually have their release day on Friday to give them plenty of time for shipping that stuff out and get it all organized on shelves. In the US games arrive on Tuesdays I believe but some locations can take an extra day to get the stock and that means some stores only have it on Wednesday.

seems if you have enough shaders and artstyle you can do without texturing..

No, you cannot. Using untextured polygons looks like arse no matter what you may think. These days you need a normalmap on complex surfaces and that IS a texture.

Just started playing it...Seems decent ATM.
One thing though is that the default field of view is 75!!This makes the mouse movement really annoying and unusual.
I recommend changing it to 90 before you even start playing.

game is money. it's hard to find something i dislike about it.

the only wierd thing... started the game on "give me deus" mode; took so bloody long to make it out of the first part (where you're still a human on the swat team) because i kept getting peeked on... so my buddy restarted on normal mode; now it seems way too easy

edit:
We in europe have to wait another 3 days for our mediocre synchronized crap
3 days?!?! that's relatively fast... took 17 years to release doom kekeke

Great game, actually a worthy successor to the original. Probably the best stealth action gameplay you'll find anywhere.

Also, punching people in the face is just plain awesome.

Best part of the game.

Even better!

I know its hard for a coder to admit, but this relativly ugly game shows off the power of a well done narrativ. Why so difficult to admit that the work of another person can have the same grip on once audience.
