I haven't heard of any new sci fi in a while. I hope it doesn't suck. It's hard to find good sci fi these days. I liked Avatar, the Chronicles of Riddick, and Predator when they came out.

I'll be on the look out for more new sci fi, but I don't think that movies make it out to where I live that quickly if at all.

i agree, Good scifi is hard to find, but at least there is some kind of will to bring the genre foward.

PS:Any good scifi adventure story can only be told in a series.

well tbh, its better to have average movies, than none, theyr are nothing espetacular, true, but surely there is an atempt at making sci fi movies.

People see its potencial.

Anyway, that Alien prequel can hardly be worse then the recent Alien/Predators movies or some remakes like I am Legend and War of the Worlds (part 2&3 for real wtfisthisshit) so there is some hope.
Not every "old" scifi movie was a 2001 or Forbidden Planet anyway, there was also alot of trash (the good and bad way), average stuff and copying.
For new movies, District 9, Wall-E, Cargo, Children of Men, Moon, Sunshine all were good imo. The Road, Pandorum, Book of Eli, Cloverfield and [that movie with the magicans] were not too bad either.

Also "omg they finally made a prequel to planet of the apes..." I keep hearing this shit and keep raging. Anyone who knows that series knows it goes full circle... Not saying too much beyond that for thOse who have not seen them.

I never liked it...
I always thought it was more a fairy tale than a real sci-fi movie..
Also even the older episodes had a lot of completely boring parts...

As a kid, before i was exposed to the whole US frantic adoration of Star Wars, i never thought it was anything special..

It doesnt have the quality of something you say you dont like to sound edgy...
I mean it only seems to be in a cult status in the US.
