Wow that looks nice! The geometry looks a bit messed up though, very unnatural. I recommend you try to make it more similar to human anatomy. He looks very deformed.

Well it is no longer human, but which parts exactly? Feet? Head?

Mostly legs/feet and the belly a bit. Imagine an arm without biceps. Or a leg without that big... leg muscle. Doesn't matter if it's not human, it just doesn't feel right. Maybe you need to put a bit more polygons in it to make the shapes look natural, especially on the legs and feet.

Dear Sir, would you kindly paint in where to change the hips?

I changed the feet so they may fit your feetish. ;)

the texture is too high res for such a low poly model IMO

too much is drawn on the flat planes.

extrude those knee covers. make the shoulder-pads and not a texture on a shirt make the chest geometry more interesting model the ridges on the face.

but texturing is what im good at- and that would be completely redoing the model- which is just a basic soldier- a mass-unit

cant see the wrong in that.. i do the 3dstuff that i need to make it 3 enough, and in every else case set on my strong point, which is texturing...

unlimited detail, i got it- on the texture ;D
whats wrong with doing what you good at?

i agree, it is good you do that. :-)

if spring has an art'y game, artists will come, and we'd have a surplus on texturers... game-devs dream come true, right?

well ive been medding with TW games again

but decided to make some medieval stuff, looks to dark but its still a bunch of ideas put together.

Ofc these are made for the Imperial Campaign, not for the battle scenes, your supose to look at them from a good distance.

What ive thinked in adding would be things like a church or a temple, outside of the settlement, or in the middle of the settlement, since we are talking about things that contrast with the rest of the buildings.

The area where the flag goes with the faction symbol could be either a temple or a Tower.

But more detail than that is very hard to see. Still its a wip

That would be awesome (and would maybe get some use in maps beyond S44), but I was meaning everything from trucks onwards.
