Trying to build up my skills each time i visit this forum, you guys help me become better.

My grandfather was a lead designer in world war two/coldwar warships.

I have kind of taken this passion and so am creating a game about my own warships in this style, still ww2 style-ish when it comes to gameplay, but yet its own unique way of future design.

A big challenge!

And a building inspired me to photograph its broken patterns (its a broken down wharehouse) and then redraw them in photoshop, 4 different colors like you told me.

If you do it dark, at least add a bright 2nddary map to it, so it can shine like metall. Important that it doesent turn into one dark blob.

it was planned to fly, but it doesn't really seem to work that well in spring.

As a bit of a space mod-ish i was thinking more as to let a naval-ship be capital ships, and planes be fighters/bombers

My ship is not supposed to be used in S44 scale (except for lulz). Maybe someday I will resurrect Spiked's "Burning Waves" game, there it won't be too large.

The more you do the more you learn :)

About the skin. Even asian skin has red in it, I would make it less yellow, a bit more red, and use a lot more hue variation. Hue variation is the key to making a realistic looking skin.

If you're not sure about the tones/hues, there's a "trick" that could help. Take a good look at the skin, and ask yourself "Does this look like a zombie or like a living human?". Doing this makes it a lot easier to decide if you need to put more life in it or not.

Also, really good job, you're improving a lot.
