Nice one. Is that dome over the drivers seat modeled or textured? Really seamless merging of texture art and model.

actually just a comparison picture of "bland boring map" vs "map pimped up with plants."
i briefly did think about allowing players to move trees, like with a gripper unit or something but i guess it would a bit useless.

How about the ability to plant seeds to grow trees? :D

Trees then provide your renewable resource. Conquer your enemy and be nice to the planet while you do it! \o/

Everytime I see something like this it makes me sad we have such crude map edges.

It's people like you who make RTS games with limited unzoom.

Go play starcraft.

why are energy storages always some rather bland lightbulb encased in some rods? Why not ie a flywheel?

maps looks good but high ground should have a different texture from low ground. (i think that would have made many many maps better)

Heh, flywheel is a pretty neat idea, shouldn't be all too hard to script something like it.

Also, you're the second person to say it needs height differentiation in texture, I'll get to work on that.

He didn't say limited zoom but camera lock is one solution, yes. "people like you" who make irrational knee-jerk responses are what ruin this community masure.

All current possible solutions to map edge issues are lacking, The best and simplest solution at the moment is endless water all around.
You can:
Use water all around
Use void water with a skybox
Use heavy engine fog with larger map + map limiting gadgets
Use fog gadget with larger map + map limiting
Put hills all around it
Locked
