Its the alcohol that drives them insane, something to do with long winters, cant be mad at people if they want do something to warm each others heart, and if it has to be with heated lead at suprasonic speed. Just look at those other countrys, look at canada, look at russia, sweden, norway look at them. All of them softend up killer-countrys ;)

No wonder they have so many shootings.

Those stats are flawed... we're not like some wild wild west here... thats what everyone thinks by reading that crappy wikipage these days. We cant even own a weapon for self defense here. Its illegal to carry any kind of weapon, (even knives) here on public.

Proofs:
http://translate.google.fi/translate?js ... 46003A00B0 (uh.. bad translation again)

I bet the idiots who made the wikipage just took the amount of weapons in finland, and converted it into % compared to the amount of people in finland. Which makes it about 30%, which is totally retarded assumption since a person can own more than 1 weapon, and secondly, most of these guys who have weapon, have it for hunting purposes only, and if you want a hobby weapon, you get this lame 0.22 caliber that cant even kill a person with one shot in the eye.

Also:
Aseluvanhaltijoiden lukumäärä Suomessa on noin 650 000 eli noin 12 prosentilla suomalaisista on ampuma-ase.
Says that only 12% of people in finland has a license for a gun. When you know 60% of those are for hunting purposes, there will be 7.2% left for non-hunting purposes... which is probably hobbyists only; as i said, we cannot own a weapon for self defense here.

Yes. he shot every victim more than 10 times... probably died in blood loss from several wounds... He also knew this: he had about 600 bullets with him. or somethin crazy like that.

Like trademark said before the numbers are flawed for several reasons:

1) there is a large amount of hunters/collectors in finland who own several weapons
2) participation in voluntary national defence (kinda like national guard) allows a person to purchase a reservist rifle (semi automatic assault rifle)

the actual number of pistols are low, acquiring one is highly expensive and harder to get than a rifle or shotgun ( a 16 year old can own a rifle for hunting purposes, but a pistol requires 18/21+ age, proof of hobby , police interview, psych evaluation etc etc)

There is a high amount of murders in finland, that is true. But a small percentage of them are done by a pistol or a gun, and are more likely to be done with a knife while drunk.

One of the shooters (Pekka Auvinen) was also flagged in a police interview when he applied for a pistol permit , which made a 'scandal' in the news (as in why did the policeman interviewing let the boy get the permit)

like trademark said ;

the french are propably less violent than us, which could explain their lower murder rate, and the part of their history where they get a lodge up their ass several times in a row and only ask for more

I think, the real danger appears, when a armed man enters a building. So if we had the statistic data from finland, showing how many armed man per day enter buildings through doors, we could predict, how many insane are ready to comit murder at the moment.

Nah, the Russians come and cull us if there's too many of us, else we'd drink all their vodka as well.

Indeed. Doesn't seem to deter us much, plus we could always just swim over to Estonia.

They do shopping trips to german malls, those alcotrolls. Once, one of the even had a "Pipeline" over the border.

@gota. Tel Aviv, ruining your statistics. And those orthodox jews, getting drunk once a year.

Looka at all those countrys without alcohol, not even for windowcleaning and desinfection. Guess they use koelsch-wasser and there zero-corruption to get high.
