Latest "The Cursed" available here

Post by azaremoth »

"The Cursed" is a free realtime-strategy game based on the Spring engine. The game is about bones, undead, demons, space marines and magic settled in a futuristic environment.

Humankind is at the brink of destruction. After initial tests of the experimental space jump-drives holes were torn into the netting of space and time. The walls to other dimensions became porous. Thus long forgotten entities from hell itself could find their way to our dimension and came to consume all souls they could get. Humankind faces a threat that the universe hasn't seen for eons.

The game features two unique races: The Cursed - a faction combining undead and demonic creatures and the Imperial Guards - human forces with high-tech weapons and incredible firepower. Many units in game have unique abilities, like burrowing, rocket jumping, teleporting, transmutation and aura casting. You will experience a war that is fought with tanks, guns, space crafts, bone dragons, priest, demons, werewolf and angels.

I would be happy to get some more feedback about bugs/problemes and of course any ideas about the game balance are very welcome.

Get it via Rapid System or from http://tc.repo.springrts.com/builds.

Make autohost and advertise games.
If you advertise they will come..

Depends if you want to advertise a 0.20 test version too much... Will leave worse first impression, than if you wait till its more ready.

Excellent work Azaremoth, Ill contact you in a few weeks with some visual extras - if youre interested.

@Mk: Yeah, the script is progressing nicely, but Im afraid that I cant work on it for a week, because my main monitor shat itself. No updates till I get a replacement :(

Of course I am interested in the AO thing. Tomorrow I'll be away for two weeks - that buys you some time

@Licho: The upload on the rapid system is little tricky. I constantly get internal server errors...

There is a website btw.: http://azaremoth.supremedesign.org
I'll do more advertising when some testing was done. I fear (as JohannesH said) that people will have a look at the game and thing - "Nahhh - it is not perfectly balanced and there are still bugs - I'll go and play SC2 or C&C sucker!"

Actually it was a .sdz file from the beginning. The upload worked now - I still get an error message - but as long as the stuff is online I am fine with that :-)

Played breifly and a few things I noticed.

-Units have pentagram hearts, which I assume is from aura of regeneration even when they're already at full health.
-Turret has no creep.
-Witches boobs could do with more polygons.

lol - at which zoom level are you playing

All smaller buildings don't have groundplates - this is actually intended. Thx for the feedback and please keep on play-testing. Especially the imperial guards.

Some important imperial structures and units are missing tooltips in buildmenu.

Yeah - even for the cursed many tooltips are missing. That was prio 2 after finishing the second race. I'll work on that in two weeks.

Nice, though feel free to distribute a working Shard with your files if you want. How does it play?

Id also look into beheriths AO bake stuff for structures, and the image sources on the curseds page on your site are broken

Otherwise it looks impressive! Cant wait to try it out =]

It plays quite nice with the included config files. There are some CPU usage spikes that make longer games a slideshow though.
