Can anyone give me an unbiased idea just what this is? The things I read about it can't *possibly* be true. I've heard of dumb, but I don't think anyone would be willing to give money with the eventual goal of being able to fly and turn invisible. Is anyone that dumb? I mean, Tom Cruise is no genius, but I didn't think he was that... just.... impossibly....
I've sat here 5 minutes trying to think of a proper word. I can't think of one. Just imagine "dumb" times 50 or so. No, Dumbasshat x 50.

Scientology proposes, as I understand it, that all inabilities, disabilities, and personal obstacles, are born of "emgrams", ie a kind of persistent memory of being told you couldn't do it (or something like that). By carefully reviewing your own assumptions and self image (called Auditing by scientologists, seems to be related to Cognitive Therapy which, by the way, does work to an extent, to which extent I assume therefore, Auditing could too), you can overcome these emgrams.
So, presumably, the perfectly unfettered human could do pretty much anything, once freed of the eroneous belief that they couldn't.
Please note I belong to a rival religion. I've tried to be objective, you can judge these claims against your own beliefs for yourself. Note to all: If you're a scientologist, and you know I'm wrong about some point of the philosophy, please correct me.

Scientology is a religion started by a secular author who wanted to prove that anyone can start a successful religion. At some point he started beliving his own messages that he was telling people, there are serveral theories about exactly how that happened but no one really knows for sure. The structure of scientology is to convince people that what they belive is right through repetition, and the scientologists are some of the most hardcore of religious groups when it comes to prosecuting people who persectute them.
You basicly buy into scientology, and the more deluded you become the higher rank you get, and the people with higher ranks get to know more and more about the secrets of the religion. Consequently we don't really know anything about what scientologists really belive, because the people who do know are either super deluded and paranoyed about outside sociaty, or they would get the asses sued off like all hell if they spoke up about what they know.

One time I was at the galaria mall in Buffalo and this nice young lady asked me if I wanted to take a stress test and I was like "Okay, Sure" I mean, free test right... and THEN I saw that they had copies of dienatics sitting there and I was like "wait a minute, your Scientologists" and acctually ran away, not like kept walking, acctually turned and ran... it was really really fun to run away from people...
The daily mirror got a reporter to go udnercover to see what it actually was.
It was an itnerestign read. The first stress test was free btu they got ehr to do all these auditing thgisn and other tests, and then she was doing stress tests for toehr people and auditing, and none fo them wheer trained in any sort of clinical or mental health thing, and it didnt really have any value save it's better tot alka bout ti thing, btut ehyw here makign money from it, quite a lot infact.
Whoever is at the top of this rank pyramid is very rich indeed be certain of that.
Stay away from thsi religion, as the buddha said, onyl a fool would continue to carry a raft once he reaches the other side. A religion is not supposed to be imposed on you, it is a steppign stone towards greater things, be it an afterlife or other goal, or simply a better udnerstandign or fullfilment. No religion has the right to delude you, if ti was the true religion it would praise you for questioning its values,a nd you would never eb able to find fault.

that's a fun story sinbadev
It goes even further, with teh ev1l galactic ruler Xenu who killed a lot of people 75 million years ago. But ofcourse then the Jedi came in with their lightsabers and brought a disturbance in the force and the starship enterprise saved the day... err...

Starwars is more feasible a religion than scientology havign read that. I have no qualms with a starwars storyline playing out in a distant galaxy with exactly the same people tech and planets, but not what that page says!?!?!
Even the spagheti monster theory of evolution sounds more plausable.

They're not at the top of their hierarchy are they? The pope is rich, I'm sure the dalai lama has a lot of wealth in his surroundings, Qeueen fo england gets a lot of money simply being the queen, the archbishop of cantebury has a better life than the ordinary priest, heck the people who do scientology got enough money to do their own scientology ship for tellign people the hgiher level stuff, hekc I thought these peopel said they where after healing people from the evils of psychiatry?
