And trans hover etc.
Re: Pick up wreckages
Ehhhh... cute idea, would allow you to rebalance and reduce the reclaim ability of mobile units. Sounds like an interesting mutator.
Re: Pick up wreckages
Massive airlifts of entire wreckage fields ^^

Yeah, it is a cool image, isn't it?Gota wrote:Massive airlifts of entire wreckage fields ^^

Re: Pick up wreckages
Wow, no flames so far? I am impress.
That would probably cause some balance issues because getting comwrecks would be a matter of faster trans, not fast defense and reclaimers.

Re: Pick up wreckages
It would require numerous balance changes, but for a mutator or another game, I think it could be pretty fun.
Re: Pick up wreckages
Why would it require other balance changes necessarily? Which side would become too good?Neddie wrote:It would require numerous balance changes, but for a mutator or another game, I think it could be pretty fun.

3 atlas comdrop
Re: Pick up wreckages
It isn't a matter of side, it is a matter of unit role. It isn't really worthwhile if mobile constructors remain as adept at reclaiming wreckage as they are now. You make them worse at it, at least the T1 ones and rez bots, and suddenly moving wrecks to be reclaimed at your base seems like a much wiser decision. One might also elect to remove gradual reclaim and replace it with whole reclaim again.JohannesH wrote:Why would it require other balance changes necessarily? Re: Pick up wreckages
just make it so atlas can only pick up wrecks under a certain weight or m value, obviously they shouldn't be able to pick up coms and factories and goliaths.

That's mainly what I was thinking about when I had this idea.Hobo Joe wrote:comsand factoriesand goliaths.
About it not being worth it, I think it would still be used even if the reclaiming power remains the same - simply to keep the enemies from getting the wrecks.
Re: Pick up wreckages
No it still doesnt seem much wiser decision... If reclaim is slow build more and more cons. Cons can do other stuff too. Or get transes so you can build more stuff that reclaim sitting at your base...Neddie wrote:It isn't a matter of side, it is a matter of unit role. If just something like nanos reclaim fast, then build nanos at the wreck field.
Transing it only would make much sense with those gollies and comms and such things that you want to "steal".
Doesnt make sense to use m on transes to carry in slow amounts of small wrecks, they die too easy. Cons is still better if you control the wrecks.
This'd just be a tiny, kinda funny kinda pointlesss change
Re: Pick up wreckages
Well, if you take that stance, sure. But you could have a wide array of changes around this, like more resilient transports, collecting multiple wrecks up to X metal value or Y number of wrecks, etcetera. It is only a small simple decision because you're considering a limited array of options.
