Awesome, FREE modeling application

Brand-new, and it's a very nice tool, with very good workflow. Wish this engine supported the kind of models that this is designed to create...

been playing around with early versions of this since last year, awesome prog indeed. A more user friendly zbrush, just as powerful with all the basics and minus wrestling with the horrible zbrush interface.

hahaha, too true.

Also, the trailer looks absolutely amazing. I'll definitely give this a try when I get back on windows.

Heck, I just kept modeling until I learned that I will always suck at modeling, and that that's OK. Call it the 'self-affirmation school of Fine Art'.

Seriously though, I wish I wasn't busy with other stuff, this program is fun.

yes, interface is totally 81209481029% easier than ZBrush, but i got strange feeling that Sculptris requires more 'power' than ZBrush :/

Holy shiat that's hawt. Too bad it looks like it's for sculpting and nothing else - unless anybody has a good tool that intelligently automagically drops polycounts and generates normalmaps?

well, kinda 'not yet' i think

sculptris crashes when i try to import model (obj). this is reply on another forum, same problem.

'I remember previous version of Sculptris needed the imported OBJ to be triangulated, it crashed for me with square faces.

Sculptris has some problem too with some kind of geometry, like for the UVSphere of Blender that Sculptris is unable to display without crashing.
The source of the problem was as worstplayer pointed to me in another thread too much faces sharing the same vertices
'

looks like its impossible to import more complicated models :/ and no, its not only blender's fault this time ;)

if someone find some solution, plz tell me right away ! (non-mainfold areas seems to cause problem :X)

@Wombat - yeah, obviously that tool has a very specific modelling style and isn't good for general-purpose OBJ files... I just mean "Can I get a model I made in Sculptris into Spring or another game engine?"

The only Obj I'd ever expect the app to import would be objs that were made in Sculptris in the first place.

export as obj, then use an external 3d app to generate the normal maps.
