Spring 79.1 on Windows 7 RC1 Test Report
TASClient: Crashed immediately when started. I have a crashlog I can email to Satirik if he can post the email address he reads.
Springlobby 10472: Started, but the update failed when it couldn't replace its executable file to update. It also couldn't find unitsync. Running it as an admin seems to have cleared up the issues.
I haven't yet tried starting a game, but will try later. Anyone else running Windows 7 and want to share their impressions?

SL sounds the same as Vista + UAC there.

Re: Spring 79.1 on Windows 7 RC1 Test Report
Windows 7 is basically supposed to behave the same as Vista for compatibility reasons, so I am not surprised. I just thought I'd give everyone a heads up that the out of the box experience of Spring on Windows 7 and maybe Windows Vista is pretty lousy right now.Pxtl wrote:SL sounds the same as Vista + UAC there.

UAC = IT savvy person's nemesis.
Oh you reminded me, i need to install the RC, still only running build 7000 (beta)

It's never bothered me...

TASclient is fail on Windows 7.
SpringLobby works fine if UAC is off or you run as admin.
So basically same as orig. poster.

Interesting, are you running 64 bit or 32 bit and are we talking stock out of the box settings or did you make any changes to the OS at all before installing Spring?aegis wrote:both work fine for me <_<
Re: Spring 79.1 on Windows 7 RC1 Test Report
64-bit.
no changes other than using a tasclient labeled 0.43, possibly one of the beta versions created while I was working with satirik

Link me to a beta version and I'll give it a shot.Satirik wrote:did you try the latest beta of tasclient ?
Re: Spring 79.1 on Windows 7 RC1 Test Report
I tried Tasclient 0.46 and later 0.48 with Windows 7 RC1 (build 7100) and both work without any problems. Haven't tried starting any games yet.el_matarife wrote:TASClient: Crashed immediately when started. I have a crashlog I can email to Satirik if he can post the email address he reads.
Edit: started a game, xta 9.58 with spring version 0.79.1.2, and it works. The framrate is even a remarkable 400 fps, with default settings. Usually my framerate is about 40.
