Re: Hoi's wip thread
don't use a busy background it makes it hard to focus on the image.
Re: Hoi's wip thread
imno (in my nooby opinion) the around the wheels it looks abit too bright
Re: Hoi's wip thread
Flames on the texture, or racing stripes. Something appreciably street bling.

Wip Wip!
I think it'll be done soon, any logo requests?
Re: Hoi's wip thread
lol the way the wheels are connected to the car makes it look like a toy car
Re: Hoi's wip thread
Contrast on what? Could you be more specific?
Re: Hoi's wip thread
More specifically, it needs preshading on the upper surfaces, and use higher contrast on the tires / wheels.
Re: Hoi's wip thread
fullbright shots?
Re: Hoi's wip thread
There was preshading, but not strong enough then I guess, I made it stronger. And I increased the contrast.Argh wrote:More specifically, it needs preshading on the upper surfaces, and use higher contrast on the tires / wheels.
(Yes, fullbright)
Ooh, and I made a little mistake in the uvmap, so now there's a seam (near the front window), but I'll fix it by putting a logo on it.
Re: Hoi's wip thread
Rotate the front wheels can be doen easy. I like the texture and the model. The blue could be teamcolor.
Re: Hoi's wip thread
it would look odd with a big army of them all with number 07 maybe you should put something else there
Re: Hoi's wip thread
looks neat, hoi! i like how you've used (i would imagine) a real tyre texture and included it in your model.
as far as logos go... what about that red one in the top left of the page? that's for something important, right ^^

Re: Hoi's wip thread
Yeah, I was thinking about using the pring logo :D
Re: Hoi's wip thread
Some of it's still giving the wrong cues, lightwise. Don't get me wrong, I can see what you're doing, but remember, this preshading stuff is basically about faking things to increase the 3D feel of the object in-game.There was preshading, but not strong enough then I guess, I made it stronger. And I increased the contrast.
The sides of the cockpit, for example, need to be darker than the top. And the area where the body curves towards the belly should be a lot darker, imo. And I'd probably lighten the very top of the entire body a bit more. It'll feel a bit cartoony in your editing environment, when it's starting to get to the point it needs to be.
Re: Hoi's wip thread
Paint it in decals and sponsors.
