Hmm, maybe it should be the other way around with the server not moving anyone back to idle if they went from being ingame to dropping from the lobby without moving to "not in game" first. Can the server see player's reasons for leaving the lobby? If so, maybe you should only consider them as having "left" a game if they show as left lobby due to quitting.Licho wrote:It already works that way matarife - it considers game as "in progress" until at least 2 people are "ingame". It should not move anyone to idle channel if game is still considred in progress.

Re: Integrated voice system based on teamspeak2 ready for use
licho you dont seem to want to understand the problem.
Either you fix it or basically no one uses it.
99% of the games i play with other teamspeak players are move settings off in the free channel, because while your waiting in lobby it moves you if your "idle"
I think its quite rude that you get instantly moved if you spec.
I want to use your add-on, but overall adding the idle shit is well... shit.

Re: Integrated voice system based on teamspeak2 ready for use
i think you dont understand how the system works.
Its designed to copy the structure of lobby/game.
If you are in game room, it puts you to channel with other people in same game room.
If you are in game, it puts you into channel with your allies (and spectators separate channel).
If you are alone you are moved to silent idle.
Thats all its supposed to do, if it does anything else its a bug.
Imagine this rule was not there and you get person who voice spams your game. What do you do about him? You kick him.. And you are telling me you want such player to stay in your teamspeak room?
Spectators are separated from players for obvious cheating reasons.

Maybe a dumb question, but has Mumble already been considered?
http://mumble.sourceforge.net/
It's open-source. I expect it could be bundled with the Spring installer without any legal issues.

Yes it was, cannot be integrated that easilly and it appears to be unpopular.
But mumble was my first choice.

I really hope that you give Mumble a shot in the future, I've given up on getting TS2 to work on Linux.
Re: Integrated voice system based on teamspeak2 ready for use
Ask other linux users, im pretty sure it works, for example BrainDamage was playing with TS2

lol licho is that rly a photo of you? well, i just wanna say that i hosted a secret poll and found out that 90% of spring thinks your hot
Re: Integrated voice system based on teamspeak2 ready for use
Can a notification be enabled for TS when a user receives a text message?
Re: Integrated voice system based on teamspeak2 ready for use
Its client settings afaik, so you can enable it.
Re: Integrated voice system based on teamspeak2 ready for use
TS2 does work on Linux, but it looks fugly. Frankly, using another program I don't consider to be much of a solution, especially one that duplicates the lobby functions.
Embedding something is obviously more work, but will work a lot better - so mumble, or simply embed the speex itself (since that is the same thing that TS2 is using). That is if you aren't lazy and want a quality result rather than alt+tabbing between programs to do anything.

Embedding was ruled out long time ago. No way to go.
You DONT need to alt tab, why would you?
System auto manages channels for you..

Re: Integrated voice system based on teamspeak2 ready for use
I missed the discussion as to why, because quite a few games these days embed it just fine
Unless all I have to do is install ts2 and not bother with it ever again, and I automatically get put into game channel / my allies channel, it's more work than I'm willing bother with really. Ease of use is key in getting any feature adopted...

Re: Integrated voice system based on teamspeak2 ready for use
Its fully automatic on windows.. you have to press exactly one button ("yes" when SD asks "enable ingame voice") and from then its automatic..
It auto downloads, installs and joins..
Its fault of Linux that it does not have system-wide URL handling.
Integration was opposed by engine developers due to stability issues and lack of popular support for any voice comm.

It does have system-wide URL handling... I'm not sure where you were looking.
"xdg-open [location]", given any url or picture or whatever file you want, will open it with the appropriate helper program, on any linux de.
http://portland.freedesktop.org/xdg-uti ... -open.html
google better next time and wait 'till blaming a bit

Re: Integrated voice system based on teamspeak2 ready for use
Will it open teamspeak and connect to server if you give it the url?
If yes, make a ticket at http://www.springlobby.info
SpringLobby has linux implementation of TS system.

Re: Integrated voice system based on teamspeak2 ready for use
It'll open the url. I thought connecting to the server was teamspeak's job, but is a layman thinking.
Re: Integrated voice system based on teamspeak2 ready for use
Yes and on windows teamspeak handles this url and connects to correct server with given name.

Re: Integrated voice system based on teamspeak2 ready for use
but in linux it doesn't since it doesn't register itself to the url handler.
