Hurricane

Post by munch »

Guys,

What's going on over there? I'm amazed nobody has made any posts about this - it's just so huge. Are any of you guys or people you know going over to help out?

It just looks so desperate. I don't get why there's not more relief effort going on? Or is that just the way the media is presenting it?

I see from the member list that there are at least a couple of guys from louisiana (smoth, slick_rick - we should PM 'em to let 'em know we're thinking about them) - are you guys OK?

Love

Funny... I only found out yesterday... shows how out of touch I am. It is absolutly shocking I must admit. Thoughts and prays go out to those who are there, know people there, know people that know people that have a friend that knows this guy who was there. Hope everyone on the bord is ok.

you know, I was also a bit weirded out by how quiet it was here... and I'm guilty of being a part of it, I do not deny it.

you aren't the only one. The hurricane hit New Orleans and flooded it over last Sunday/Monday, and FEMA (the Federal Emergency Management Agency) didn't even announce (announce, not send, just announce) that they would send aid until Thursday, three days later. What a government we've got here in the U. S. of A, huh? but that's a whole 'nother ball of wax. It is really terrible what has happened to New Orleanians, especially since after the disaster struck, they were left to fend for themselves for a long time without outside aid; they got the shaft. They have lost it all, and if/when they 'rebuild' New Orleans, I doubt that many of them will be able to move back.

the problem is all of our national guardsmen are fighting the "war of terror" BS! Where are all of our damn helicopters??? IRAQ!!!

I've donated all of my hard-earned money (all $107 of it) to the red cross. Lets all pitch in and help these poor people.

not by FEMA, but thank goodness there are other Red Cross-like organizations out there, and people with a strong sense of civic duty.

I was absolutely horrified when I heard a hurricane was gonna hit new orleans, last year they warned this might happen, guess what, it happened...10k people are now dead, maybe more...this is the scale that comes close to the Tsunami disaster of last year...

I wish I could help but i'm quite poor my self, I can only hope they are doing alright...

New Orleans is pretty much destroyed though...that's terrible...

Have you guys considered this?
Ok. Yes, it's tragic. Yes, I feel bad for these people. But isn't it time we start facing the very real possibility that things are only getting worse? As avid game players, we know all too well that when shit looks bad, it's really 100 times worse.

Lets face the facts. Raccoon City? Hell, with all the floodings, there's raccoons all the hell over the city.

I saw a news story with a reporter trying to stop a guy from drinking the dirty/polluted water from the street. He said the man was too "delusional" to know what was going on... wrong, buddy. "Delusional" quickly turns into "flesh eating" according to every game I've played.

Toxic waste + dead bodies = zombies. Period. Plain and simple.

Look, I feel sorry for these people. But it's time we pull the National Guard out and send in one person with a revolver and too few bullets. Lets face reality.

I forgot what LMFAO stands for. But i wanted to buy a new game. But i decided to donate the money for the game to the Red Cross. Then I searched in my closet and found Ground Control. I said to myself "hmmm... i never beat this!" so I sat down and played it. So I have made a decision. Every time i want to buy a new game, i will go to my closet and if I cant find a game that├óÔé¼Ôäós fun and entertaining (including TA Spring) Then i will buy the new game. The only games I├óÔé¼Ôäóm making an exception to this rule are Spore, Supreme Commander and Evil Dead: Regeneration.

In San Diego there's a large money drive today for the Red Cross (I believe) @ Qualcomm Stadium, section D2. I guess I should have posted this earlier in case anyone didn't know, but then again I don't know that anyone here lives in San Diego.
