Neddie's Autohosts Going Down

Post by Neddie »

Due to a seasonal change of location and thus connection my autohosts will be going down en masse. In addition, [K]Pandora and NeyaHost will not be online. If I am able to set up a consistent and uncapped connection I will attempt to host with request hosts first, then testing hosts, then ladder hosts and last standard hosts.

Autohosts are quite useless. It won't matter if there aren't available.

Imo they are pretty important for any non-BA mod...

Autohosts are used but that doesn't mean they are useful.

If these hosts come back up, can you remove the repetive hosts? I dont think 17 CA autohosts are necessary. However, definitely make more XTA autohosts, that crash less.

Considering CA makes up for 25% of the play on my hosts and XTA only 20%... maybe.

Autohosts are essential for XTA since the bigger part of the community cant host

Satirik, Masure, stop vomiting your unsupported opinions in my thread. Autohosts are fairly useful, they can act as centralizing and democratizing entities, allowing people with computers or connections unsuitable for hosting to play games they have input on. What I do to offer these hosts is a small thing, but it is helpful, and I won't have anybody deriding a contribution I make to the community, that is my role. Do I make myself clear?

I agree, please don't belittle or dismiss any contribution to the community, especially one that helps people play the games.

When I have time to play, it's usually XTA with my clanmates and it's often on Neddie's XTA bot. Yes, we do have players with machines and connections capable of hosting large games, but they're not on all the time.

This has been a problem with the community for a long time and I'm bloody sick of it. Any kind of contribution recieves a negative reaction at some point. It's not how you treat someone that's trying to help you. If you don't like something then don't use it or help to improve it.

I'm just glad Neddie knows this happens sometimes and doesn't think that you speak for everyone.
I have previously thanked Neddie for his servers and I'll continue doing so.

When they come back on, do remember to have some !voterehost-able hosts.

I do have some, but the function is always abused. I merely limited the selection with the Limit Mods tab.

KP hosts host Kernel Panic. Not BA, not NOTA, not GINTA.
CA hosts host Complete Annihilation. Not BA, not XTA, not PURE.

If people will stop trying to troll by forcing my hosts over to different content packages, running them empty or spamming them with commands I will stop restricting the powers of the masses.
