Complete Annihilation spam statistics (+ mod/map stats)
This much spam CA has made:
http://modinfo.adune.nl/graphs/ca_spam_stats.php
How useful this spam has been (CA mod player base hasnt grown almost at all):
http://modinfo.adune.nl/graphs/index.php
I used my #main.log to make this list, so it isnt so accurate, because im not at the lobby 24/7, so the real numbers are way higher than that.
Yeah, so whats im saying, we should stop the CA spam. Its annoying and useless.

Re: Complete Annihilation spam statistics (+ mod/map stats)
I got a laugh out of this.
Re: Complete Annihilation spam statistics (+ mod/map stats)
Spam is always annoying, but somehow CA manages to take it above and beyond the 'normal' annoyance.
"<[LCC]Licho[CA]> Last one for CA. CA, we make sure that all units are useful in the game. Modlink: http://caspring.org/wiki/CaUpdater"
I can't help but LOL at that.
This is even better:
"<[LCC]Licho[CA]> Complete Annihilation is out! Join the Spring revolution! Modlink: http://caspring.org/wiki/CaUpdater"
Revolution? LOL

Re: Complete Annihilation spam statistics (+ mod/map stats)
I agree it's annoying and I think a moderator shouldn't take part in such activities.
Re: Complete Annihilation spam statistics (+ mod/map stats)
I find it actually cruel to shove this down newcomer's throats. Let them play what they want to play, try what they want to try. Not be basically forced into CA.
You could say "Advertising isn't forcing", But the way they've been doing it, and at the rate, it really is.

Re: Complete Annihilation spam statistics (+ mod/map stats)
Forced? How does advertising force someone into something..
CA is not listed in installer how would newbies even know it exists?
If there were no advertising the most played mod would be played forever without any chance for change.

Make it in the installer thenLicho wrote:CA is not listed in installer how would newbies even know it exists?
Another solution is to make lobby auto download mod which you dont have, or open download page when you click the room which mod you dont have...
If i remember right, there was such feature which opened page for the mod download (i think there still is), but now its not working because all spring content is spreaded onto many different sites.

Re: Complete Annihilation spam statistics (+ mod/map stats)
Your mod stats are iffy.
Looking at these ones: http://tracker.caspring.org/stats/view.php CA has been on top of XTA for a long while, while yours provide no timestamps.
But man, how do you ever get around the internet these days. I feel bad for you

My graph uses mod name as unique mod, doesnt look the version numbers.Vadi wrote:Your mod stats are iffy.

You can still see the growing angle keeps almost same, which means popularity hasnt grown almost at all.
Re: Complete Annihilation spam statistics (+ mod/map stats)
By that argument, BA would be (and in the majority of cases is) the only mod that new players end up playing, simply because of the number of ba games.SiN wrote:Peer PressureLicho wrote:Forced? How does advertising force someone into something..

Re: Complete Annihilation spam statistics (+ mod/map stats)
I personally find some non-mod talk generated by people (including TradeMark) more annoying than advertising.
Btw TradeMark I have put your stats down.
Using CA site and data to attack CA is not smart.
Det pays for the hosting and I dont think he is going to be happy when he wakes up.

Re: Complete Annihilation spam statistics (+ mod/map stats)
You removed all my stats, you could just removed that stat which was "attacking"
Buh, i gotta upload at modinfo then.

Re: Complete Annihilation spam statistics (+ mod/map stats)
well its easy to complain about non-mod talk when you annoy everyone with advertising mod talk and call complaining about that non mod-talk.

Re: Complete Annihilation spam statistics (+ mod/map stats)
CA spam kind of sucks
and this isn't really that great
