A player for replays
I wish there would be a real player for the replays with fast forward and rewind. And a time line so i could jump straight to the end of the game. Is this possible to do such thing?
Re: A player for replays
Ask in Development/Feature Requests.
I believe if you indexed the replay with tags you could then reference tags to make discreet jumps in time, but frame to frame timing would require immense bloat.

Fast-forward is already possible, its called skip (but in 0.76b1 its broken btw).TheMightyOne wrote:I wish there would be a real player for the replays with fast forward and rewind. And a time line so i could jump straight to the end of the game. Is this possible to do such thing?
The other things aren't currently possible, and can't be implemented with ease.

do you mean the speed increasing? coz 3x the game speed isnt really fast :/ and like i said i cant skip big parts of the game, i have to waitAuswaschbar wrote:Fast-forward is already possible, its called skip (but in 0.76b1 its broken btw).TheMightyOne wrote:I wish there would be a real player for the replays with fast forward and rewind. Re: A player for replays
He means the .skip command which does let you
"jump" over large parts (if it wasn't half-broken):
http://spring.clan-sy.com/wiki/The_Talk ... t_commands:
Straight jumping is not possible since replays only
store player commands and the gamestate at any
given time-index is the result of all the commands
that were executed prior to that index, rewinding
isn't for the same reason.

Re: A player for replays
.setmaxspeed 20 should give you enough speed for serious forwarding. I didn't use that skip command (even when it still worked) as for me it took ages until it finally got to the point it should - I could get to the wished position way faster with just setting the speed to a high value...TheMightyOne wrote:do you mean the speed increasing? coz 3x the game speed isnt really fast :/ and like i said i cant skip big parts of the game, i have to wait

Re: A player for replays
you need a decent cpu to replay at high speed or you lag to death

This used to be possible with the SY's Demo Recorder. It seems reasonable that Spring should be capable of the same functionality?
