Saktoth instead if a wall of text. A few sentances would be enough to compile a 50 mission (two per side) Campaign.

All we need to know...

Why are they fighting?
Who is who?
Their homeworlds identification?
Current state of the war?
Who is good and who is evil?

The Opening Sequence would be great for a video trailer/ opening video to the campaign, but CGI(?) etc isn't my area of experties.

I have a few ideas if I had something to base them upon.

When I have all the information I require. I'll produce, mapping, Briefing recording and video designs to everyone so we can get started.

or how about creating a backbone to the campaign first and keep your comments to yourself as you completely know nothing about what your talking about. This is only the starters my friend the desserts are the expansions.

What I am saying is that a campaign is not just a story and some movies. A campaign needs programming. Without programming, the campaign does not exist. Therefore programming is actually the backbone of the campaign. Desert first approach means that you are doing the smaller, easier, less important parts first. Perhaps I am mistaken, and i misunderstood your posts, and in that case, please forgive me. I am interested in helping in the programming regard, but im trying to learn lua first. Let me throw out a few widgets/gadgets and then ill help. The LUA syntax is so borked, its really too bad that its not python or something so that its justified.

I dont think there should be a "good" or "evil" side, just a "way of thinking A" and a "way of thinking B" side :)

The programmer of the team could be found here
http://spring.clan-sy.com/phpbb/viewtop ... =1&t=14038
He is also the design analysis manager who will be destributing the aspects of a design to the other team members who will design and impliment these nessessary features into the campaign.

Both sides will be equally viable, if I recall.

Complicated, i suggest you dont just arbitrarily hand out positions. This is your initiative and you can run it however you please but CA is a meritocracy. Those who do the work get to make the decisions, and until they do the work they dont get to make any decisions. Good work and good decisions are used, bad work and bad decisions are discarded.

This is really the best way to get anything done- handing out a bunch of titles and jobs and tasks creates a useless, artificial bureaucracy. Nobody is getting paid here, so...

BTW kiki, dont be offput. If you want to program a campaign go for it. If its good someone will use it, if only parts of it are good someone will use the parts of it that are good.
Why are they fighting?
To kill the other side. A righteous and divine purpose if ever there was one. They are machines built to fight. They exist, therefore they fight. Ours is not to question why...
Who is who?
'Arm' is a deep-strike, long range expedition force who operate under doctrines of stealth, mobility and oblique approaches. They were sent out eons ago to fight deep behind the lines of an enemy that has long since been wiped out (By them, or before they even arrived? Who knows).
'Core' is defensive garrison who use brute force and power. They were charged with the protection of a vast, galaxy-spanning empire that has been dead for centuries, its proud monuments crumbled to dust.
Their homeworlds identification?
There is no homeworld. They have spread out endlessly across the galaxy like ants, consuming and stripping bare worlds to fuel their ceaseless war effort.
Current state of the war?
Perpetual. Endless. Timeless. Two sides so vast they have no hope of ever destroying the other. Though, the specifics of the campaign can vary (the timeframe is large enough....)
Who is good and who is evil?
Obviously YOUR faction is good. The OTHER side is evil.

Thats the 'official' storyline (But only because nobody else wrote one and most people seem to agree its a good storyline- thus its the one we're using).
