Really nice though the video doesn't show what probably is going to be most of the work and i.e. setting up how the camera pans, tilts and rolls during the video...

EDIT:
If that's done on a pixel color basis that would be cool although probably won't work in many situations...

Not possible, you would need to faithfully recreate the unit, and you still have the texture to worry about.

As an example, it would be the same as me looking at a video then just modeling what I see.

The texture is generated based on frames of the image as you map around the object.

Alright, that still leaves you needing to see all of the texture and have some nice modeling skillz with the program :P
