Why hosting games in Spring sucks

The incentive to use the same account to raise rank is somewhat useless because star rank is easily achieved after which theres nothing to work for.
Ironically its those who manage to reach star rank who're most likely to work for extra ranks, and where its most needed. Its not right when you have 50k minutes in game time and your ranks the same as someone with 5k minutes.

I decided to bump this to say that Satirik's lobby client is amazing. He's already added almost all the amazing features in the autohost! It has a banlist, team/color fixing, it'll make boxes, balance teams, ring people, and more. It can also search UF for files and filter the battles currently open. Why doesn't this guy have SVN access to start working on the "real" lobby already?

While the XTA Pros where learning the finer points of XTA, the AA Pros where relearning the latest releases from caydr every 3 or 4 weeks. This gave the best XTA players a years head start over the AA Pros.
Considering the AA pros then had to move to BA and learn the small differences and tactics for BA, I'd say the XTA Pros are far superior, simply because of the huge headstart.
E.G.
2 Groups of Jugglers. The Red ball jugglers and the blue ball jugglers.
For a year and a half they practice.
For the first year the shape size and consistency of the blue balls change wildly and randomly.
Who do you think has the superior ability to juggle the balls now? The red ball jugglers with the 1.5 years practice? Or the blue ball jugglers who've only had 6 months practising with a ball that doesnt transform its shape while in the air?

However, the blue ball jugglers went to a much bigger juggling school, and thus encountered more competition. While that competition may have largely taken place in specific environments (often a flat lunar plain, or an enormous mountainous "divide"), the greater numbers may have led to a higher quality of competition.
A few BA veterans have kicked my ass 1v1 (especially on comet) with extremely rapid expansion, but the longer an XTA game lasts, the more things like 300 e cost mohos, and the dominance of t2 start to disrupt their game. Tbh the majority of the good spring players were star rank long before I started playing spring, and I seem to be one of the XTA old timers these days; if we lined up the best of XTA vs WarC/PRO or whoever, I'm pretty sure which way it would go
My point is, beyond the fact that skill based ranking sucks (should be MTR) the concentration of good players in one mod does not undermine the skills of the players of other mods, and to base a rank system off of one mod alone would be pretty pointless imo.

Keep comparing juggling to playing spring AF its not like it makes you look like a total fool or anything..
My point was that BA is the only mod with a decent number of 1v1ers and so even if you wanted to get good at another mod there is noone to pratice against. Also there isnt really a mod that different from BA when it comes down to winning 1v1 :)
