Hero units

I think TA needs hero units, units that are like, 5 times powerful than their fellow units.
E.g.
The hero Peewee would be faster, stronger, and have more hit points than a normal Peewee.

Give them a only 1 tag and give them names or something.
Another E.g.
Smoth's Morty
Trepan's Peewee (no offence, i just cant think of any other units)

you get the idea.

Orly? How? Because I've never seen it done in the OTA engine, and the only way I can can think of are script heavy and wouldn't work very well.

There's an OTA mod which has three captains for each side and you could only have one of them at a time. Yes, script heavy.

isn't this more of a "Hey guyz can u plz add some heroes to a mod i play" thread and therefore should be in mods?

(really it should be locked as this could just go in the forums of the relevant mod...)

i mean as in an upgraded Fido or Gimp, not a whole new unit. Although actual different-looking hero units would be nice in TA based mods.

though if it is doable but script heavy now and will be less script heavy with LUA...

still seems like this thread/request goes in either the BA,CA,XTA or whatever-A mod forum u want this in...

what im trying to say is having an upgraded, but normal unit that you can only build one of. What i mean by "normal" is having a regular unit as in a Flash or Instigator, not a brand new unit as a hero. This hero unit would have bigger guns, more health, faster speed, or maybe even all of these.

Admittedly, yes.

Anyway, Zoy, I discussed some hero units which would be scripted to appear randomly with some people a few months ago. It can be done that way, have variants who are superior (and possibly limited) be built by chance in the place of originals... but I believe they would have to have separate unit data, etc...

Guessmyname may consider random red units for Orks in Epic Legions, which have higher speeds and are... red.

As many things that can be done by script, perhaps allowing the change for the local unit in key attributes (unitname, model, and animation script) would effectively allow this idea?
