The DL-Link :

http://spring.unknown-files.net/file/22 ... tal_32x32/

the yellow/Golden Dots are the Metall Spots...

Now... what do you think.. the Crystall Soutpole will be covered with the same Amount Metall of the Northpole, but flattened out on the whole Territory... the darkgreen things will be Mountains... The Theme will be ranging from a Tropical Stripe - over Desert - to nothern Green, Tundra - Ice..

Oh before i forget it size is 40x 40 :D and Shadows will be rendered into the Texture...

EclipseExampel:

And the Glaced Effect - making the Right Earth (that in the rendering uses Bumpmap) a little Shiny

Wow. A map from Picasso that looks remotely balanced. Good job.
I think the 20x20(compressed) version would be enough. Like Knorke said, 40x40 is to big to be fun.
Pay some more effort to the metalmap, thats usually where you fall behind.

Shadows will be rendered into the texture? Im kinda agaisnt this because when units walk over the so called "Shadows" they wont darken a bit. It will look really weird.

I agree with the 40x40 comment, no SM2 map should be bigger than 30x30 in my opinion. And I think several versions would be a great idea.

But you could loose a bit of sarcasm lordo.

As usual this looks good, I'm starting to like your more recent mapping style more picasso, keep up the good work!

I wasn't critisizing you this time... though it's probably too distractive to play on, same problem with most of your maps. They're still nice to look at.

I think Forb made the greenheaven map. Also, I greatly dislike the yellow in the middle. I think you should try something closer to the sand color used on most of the desert maps.

Understood will search for Alternativ desertcolour...

I tried to come close to the processed earth Image... the Problem starts when you want to have something that does look Good zoomed in & out..

And this i still not equiped with light - just the selfiluminated Textures..

Image

I tried it with something like in the Sahara - but it looked like Snow.. so i stayed yellow, but a little orange cant be that damaging..

Well, darken it a little, nobody will like playing on a map that makes their eyes hurt. This is a better sand color, IMO:
